I just joined that FB group to have a look-see. Hmmmm indeed. Appear to be at least several cases of the alternator not being connected at the factory. Jump on your new V100 and ride out from the dealership happy as Larry only for the thing to drop dead a few miles up the road when the battery runs out of steam. The rocker shaft thing is the scary bit though……..if that turns out to be a widespread problem, imagine the recall/warranty issues, not to mention loss of customer goodwill. Hope to god it’s just a handful of isolated incidences where Luigi on the production line had a bad day on the tools after one too many Chianti’s the night before.
I have had too many "Luigi moments" with my Guzzis (all bought new and already several years in production). And when you read comments and add your own experience then you know how Piaggio handles guarantee cases and treats their dealers ... NO! I don't need this.
Would be interesting to know where the engines are produced? Maybe even not in Italy anymore. Piaggio has factories in China, Vietnam, Indonesia ...
But I must admit I like the looks of the bike.

I remember BMWs of a certain period had paint flaking/bubbling/corroding off the engine covers faster than they accelerated ...my 2006 R850R was a masterclass in patina & the easiest fix was a fine wire brush every now-and-then as painting cover edges/bolt securing points never worked.

I managed to read a bit of that thread before fb froze me out (I've never had a fb account)
hmmm, lots of happy punters and a couple of reports of dodgy stuff. In the old days we'd never have heard about the couple of ones that went wrong.
fingers crossed for all those that splurged on a new bike, hopefully the engine is properly assembled and the paint stays on the thing longer than a week!
I'm interested in the next bike they bring out on this platform. too good to be true that guzzi have all the little faults sorted out in the first model year, especially on the back of a few years where supply chains have been disasterous all round europe and probably the world.

I've created a new place for V100 content - See: Boneyard, below Combustion Chamber. Feel free to go there and start a lively discussion.
This was at the suggestion of a few people who feel that the new model deserves a mini forum of its own and to keep all of the V100 content from getting lost amongst all of the GRiSO content.

Pete I know that the small blocks never had the flow and poetry (!?!) of the big blocks.
But imho they were always better designed - from the oil tank separation from the crankcase to the horizontal split cases to the shaft drive articulation, to the charging wiring, and even the larger oil filler hole. Oh yes and when they came out (with electronic ingnition) the big blocks had that bloody awful skew drive points housing.
But the big blocks feel so fluid and long legged and GOOD But sometimes it is good to be able to get from A to B and then back...
in peace

I saw amd sat on a v100 in jax fl last week that was sold and I must say its a beauty fit and finish rival any other top maker i hope they sell a shitload of them but I dought that will be reality ,if my 07 GRiSO goes tits up a standard in red is top of list followed by a Rocket 3r and a Indian ftr
I thought it was designrd by Miguel Galluzzi same guy designed original monster
I remember Galluzzi did the Cagiva Raptor - sort of a Monster ripoff - and I think he may have done the Aprilia RSV4, as well. Not sure what all else. But Frascoli did the GRiSO.
He did a bunch for guzzi . But whoever did the GRiSO did a great job i think its timeless looking and could still be made . Non guzzi people think its new
