Had a phone call from my bank today with an offer to up my credit limit by 50%.
Then they offer me a 12 month interest free period an any single amount I nominate up to $10,000. They would post me a cheque for that amount and I could buy whatever I want.
As I use my credit card for some of my business expenses, and pay it off in full end of each month, I asked. "Would my monthly payments be logged against the loan or purchases"?
Bank: "Cough cough! Aaagghhh! Any money you pay back will be firstly credited against outstanding cash advances, then purchases when the cash advance is paid in full."
Me: "So effectively I get one month interest free on purchases of $1K - $2K and then I get to pay 20.74% interest, on a balance that is increasing by $1K - $2K every month"?
Bank: "Cough cough! Aaagghhh! Yeah."
Me: "Fuck off you thieving cunt"! click.
