After a long run with my bike this morning, I checked the color of my plugs.
What do you think about it? Rich, lean, good, bad?

No pics. We're the plugs new? Did you choose a certain point to chop or just ride?

Here are the pics!
The plugs have 2000 km, so new.

I just rode it along some country roads, fast and slow.
A few stops because a was playing with the scanM5X app. Tried a couple of CO trimming for a couple of km but returned to the original setting: 0 zero.

If am running the unofficial BRV12 map for Breva 1100. k&N filter, no cat, carbon can with dBk.

If the Lamda is on then it'll make not a jot of difference playing with the CO trim. My guess is that when you're in open loop it'll be running rich, the plugs look rich but after 2,000 km it'll b hard to tell a lot. To read plugs properly they have to basically be new.

The K&N filter wil achieve nothing apart from wearing your motor out faster. So what bike is this? A B11?

Too rich. Sooty air-fuel ring suggests too rich idle. Sooty end on electrode suggests rich mid and top, plus the insulator is quite dark grey. We are looking for mid-grey to brown colour. Timing may be too retarded. You want your colour change in the ground strap at the mid point.

Pete

The bike is a B11 and the lambda is still on.

I will put on some new plugs, stock airfilter and come back with new pics.

I am willing to ask Mark to help me with a new map, but first I have to figure out the dilemma about catcon: remapping a B11 gives better results with or without catcon?

Without it I feel less heat on my legs. MPG has increased e bit and after 10000km the valve clearance is unchanged which could mean for a less stressed engine.
About performance, can't tell whats better, just different. Without catcon I have more torque in the low-mids and less highs. It's like the torque pic has moved to lower RPMs, which increases rideability.

What do you think about it?

Three days ago I put the stock air filter back on.
Damn the bike runs fine now! Can't believe the difference!
Lot of harshness is gone and pulls better all the way to 8k rpm.

Time to take care of the exhaust now, and add some flow resistance.
The stock b11 has an expansion chamber where the cat con is located, like the 4v sport. I could try to put it back on, but maybe open it and remove the cat from inside because of the heat.

Another idea would be to add some bends before the exhaust can.

What do you think about it?

Yes. With lambda on, they will never run right without a stock filter. cheers

Leave the exhaust as is and remap. PM me your email address and I'll send you the B11 map I built for a guy in the US. You can try it to get an idea of what needs to be done.
