PostSubject: Greetings from Switzerland    Greetings from Switzerland Icon_minitime1Thu Apr 09, 2015 11:39 pm

Hi there, just joined the Forum. I'm called Simon and am living in Switzerland. Started riding 3 years at 42 yrs old. Driving test and first year with a used Honda CBF 600 NA, then quickly bought 2012 BMW R1200GS. Put 20 000  kms on it and I am loving it!
The Honda has basically been sitting in the garage for the last 2 years.... I am now seriously contemplating trading in the Honda for a GRiSO. I believe I will enjoy the combination of GS for commuting and longer two up trips; and GRiSO for weekend day trips in the Alps  Very Happy

So far have test ridden a GRiSO - feels real fun, maybe a bit small for me? I am 6'3 with 33" inside leg. Must go for a longer test drive to see if it's not too cramped.
look forward to reading up on all the info available here in the Ghetto.

PS sorry to those who read this post in Wild Guzzi Forum - but over there, I haven't had a reply in more than a week...
In the mean time here is a pic of my GS.

Welcome and glad you have been getting some miles covered. I think the GRiSO could work for you with some changes to foot pegs etc. Others with more knowledge will be along soon I reckon.

Best wishes, Ian/Blue.

Great picture.

Welcome to the ghetto Simon.  The GRiSO seems to suit a wide variety of sizes, what really matters is the impression of an individual rider.  One tall guy loves it, another hates it.  Another guy can't get both feet down and hates it, while another just plants one foot and loves it.

Take a GRiSO for a ride, and if GRiSO speaks to you, you will know.

I'm 6'2" with a 32" inseam and have about 60,000 GRiSO miles since 2008.  I find it to be a very comfortable fit.  Not nearly as roomy as your 1200GS, it's a completely different ride.

I guarantee the GRiSO would be a much better stable mate than your Honda...

Greetings Simon! The GRiSO only speaks to the lucky few. My hope is you 'get it'.

Welcome Simon,

If you're going to be riding in the Swiss Alps, what could be better than a GRiSO?!

G-Day to you Simon,
you have come to right place, a friendly bunch here. I'm sure you will love the GRiSO. Mine came with the suspension set up for a Glass smooth race track so the roads where I live were just awful to ride on, but with a bit of research here and on Wild guzzi , I've managed to Dial back the suspension to be quite comfortable and still not affect the handling adversely. The more miles I put on this bike the more I like it. GO GRiSO cheers

Another 6'2"er here. With both a GS and a GRiSO. I did lower the foot pegs 1" and that made a big difference. Fun bike, give it a try.
