Ah, poor girl - she probably got hot pushing it.

I can make comments like that as I have owned 2 x Vespa and 2 Lambretta's back in the day.

[ Although my pushing experience was actually my fault ] - put my Vespa 150 super on reserve and forgot about it!!

Whew, I was beginning to think I was the only one who favored tall willowy Blondes. For the record I have never even been on a scooter. Laughing

Last time I rode one was last summer. My brother-in-law let me ride his Lambretta Li 125 [ 1967 ] i think? Big trip down memory lane for me. My ownership was during the early 80's. Best of it is he used to take the p.ss out of me and now he has one. I guess they have become a bit iconic and are now worth some serious money.

Nostalgia is good, but the reality of riding it only confirmed why I stopped! I can see why people buy Burgmans etc for blatting around and having had a go on a Burgman 400 a few years ago, I was surprised by how good it was and would be a great daily ride for commuting.

As for the picture - memories for me of a girl I used to take pillion called Joanna ........[stares off into the distance down memory lane and smiles ]

Blue, I always thought Lambretta and Vespa scooters were cool. I  went right from a Rupp 3 1/2 hp mini bike to a Hodaka motorcycle. And I too spend time on memory lane with a smile on my face, I loved them all.......

Those top of the line Vespa's with 350 (?) motors are absurdly expensive, even if they come with ABS, ESC, and retro cache. $13 - 14K US for a scooter? I am NOT buying THAT scooter for my wife.

There are Piaggio and Aprilia scooters running the same motors as Vespa and usually substantially less expensive.  But quality costs.
