My G11 failed to start yet again yesterday morning. It's an intermittent problem, and it's getting to be a pain in the butt. The bike started 1st prod of the button when I got home from work in the evening........

I've used the search facility, but I can't find the article about the starter bypass mod.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Cheers,
Simon.

Click on search in the above bar, then type in any key part to your question.

Here's one.

I had a problem like this, I traced it to the Start-Stop Switch cable connector (4 way) underneath the right side cover next to the petrol tank.

One of the contacts (socket type) was not making very good contact. Removed the contact with small watch makers screwdriver and bent the inner tang up to make better contact with the blade contact on the mating connector.

The two inner contacts are the STARTER switch. Switch closed when pressed.

The two outer contacts are the KILL switch.  Switch closed when in the out position (engine enabled).

Cheers Brian,
I assume right hand side is when sitting on the bike?
I'll have a look this evening.
Cheers,
Simon.

Basically you need to run a fused power wire direct from battery to the relay for the starter motor.
There's umpteen threads on the subject, with photos, if you "search"

I also did the starter relay modification, but this didn't cure the intermittent starting, until I found the dodgy connector, which I mentioned in my previous post.

This is how I did my 1100, referring to the wiring diagram for the 1100.

Remove the orange/green wire from starter relay switch contact no. 3 and fit a new wire to the connector, which is then connected to the battery positive, via a 15A fuse.  Using a wire of 2.5mm2 cross section is recommended.
