I need a little help with the translation, my Italian brothers. Swedish-American actress Ann Margret's riding a vintage Moto Guzzi V700 in the dusty neighborhood surrounding the Roman tenements, she runs into Jesus(?) and offers him a ride, but he says he'd rather walk, all of a sudden she realizes she's almost out of gas and asks if he can spare a few lira, and in the next scene she's stopping at the photo booth for a few quick "selfies". What gives? Question [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I loved Ann Margret since the late 1960's She also rode Triumph's. I was told long ago that Elvis taught her to ride.

Pietro Breccia (Vittorio Gassman) is a man who has long decided to abandon civilization, becoming a hermit, leaving behind the strain of modern life and the futility of consumer society, living for years in seclusion on Soratte, near Rome. One day he is discovered by a TV crew that, sniffing the scoop, film a report about him. From that moment, against his will, he gets sucked into civilization.[2]

Internet Movie Database has it as "Mr Kinky"

Based on that photo, I'm guessing that it was Ann Margret who taught Elvis how to "ride"... Wink

What gives? There is some footage removed from the sequence in the scenes you posted. AM goes into the booth, closes the curtain, raises her sweater, takes some photos, and then sells them to a businessman walking by. Gas money problem solved!

See it here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

This is a perennial WG topic. It should be a sticky. Wink

I had no idea. That version is much more interesting, and much less confusing.
