The stars have aligned and I leave early tomorrow morning for the Ruptured Budgie Rally at Mingoola. This is the QLD Guzzi Club's annual rally and there is usually in excess of 100 Guzzi's of all types and an excess of other bikes too. I'll be there from Friday morning waiting for the bar to open...

Anyone from this establishment going? If you are and can't find me, ask at the beer tent - they all know me (well some of them do anyway) or look out for a black 2 valve 1200 Sport

I won't be but the Green Horror will, Mark S is riding it up as his is FUBAR. You'll be able to hear it coming, not the exhaust, just the cams trying to jump out of the camboxes Very Happy

If anybody's bike blows up or shits itself, let me know.

Cheapest alternative, get it back to the New England anywhere and I can arrange to have it picked up by one of the interstater's. May take a week or two. Some offer me trade discount.

Next alternative, is they will go bush for a price, same as above.

Ultimate service, I'll get you and the bike back to Brisbane on the day.

Awesome weather all weekend. A tad cold from Inverell on Friday Morning (-2) but got to the rally site via a quick blat on the QLD side of the border for Texas. Get there right on 10am. Picked a most excellent site, mal arrived later and half of the Cabal members were also there - some from NSW, some from QLD.

Left at 10am yesterday, temp was 29 degrees, got to 14 by Uralla, and dropped to 8 going over the range where it also started to drizzled. I stayed the night in Medowie, dropped in to see my sister and brother-in-law and got home around 2 pm this afternoon. Drizzled all the way to Shitney, and has been good since there.

A good time was had by all - oh and yes, sufficient rum was consumed for all.

No regrets Al, life is what it is - we all make sacrifices to the lord of the house or work from time to time, it's just the way life is. There will be other rallies at other times or a cabal run or two - makes them all that much more betterer when the stars align. I had a days notice that I could go from work commitments. Quite prepared that I couldn't go too - such is the way the cookie crumbles
