Just turned 56. I bought my GRiSO a couple of weeks ago and took my first real ride this past Saturday. Even though it has some good company in the garage with a Ducati Diavel, KTM 1190 Adventure and a couple of '74 Norton's, I think the GRiSO will be getting preferential treatment.

Congratulations on your new GRiSO and shedding the yoke of Don Abbondio!

"you are as old as women you feel", so they say and not to appear sexist it would work the other way around too :-)

That knocks 10 years off my age already!

This is not good as my other half is five years older, on the other hand she has taken her cbt about two months ago and is now riding a Yamaha ybr. As for me some days I feel around 28 and others 128 so who knows.

I will be 61 in August , I recently have turned into a old curmudgeon and are proud of it ...
The GRiSO suits me fine.. its a great ride ,looks the best and has become a go to bike amongst the others in my stable .
I gave up sport bikes years ago mostly because I found that they couldn't compromise like a standard or a adventure bike could .
Getting on in age and riding bikes has changed my riding style , i still like speed but i tend to go for more sit back and let the world go by type of riding aswell. i have learned to relax and take it easy rather than the frenetic rides of days gone by, for me its better.
The GRiSO fits this bill well , although when needed the bike has the capacity to entertain in the corners very well indeed ..
its a great choice for me in a motorcycle and for many others , and i wonder if for the same reasons ..

I want to congratulate the members that are half my age for learning so early how cool Guzzi's are.
I'm 51 (and my girl friend is 31) but I have been a Euro Twin Snob since I was 24. That was when I bought my first Laverda SF2.

1957 Vintage here too. Wanted something different after riding Honda's (450, 750 & 900) over 30 years ago. Kids and priorities got in the way. Thought about a BMW R9T but real glad I didn't do that in 2014 when I got the GRiSO. Wanted something that looked like a motorcycle and I could see the engine like in the old days (and wasn't a Harley). I was crossing Lake Champlaign from New York to Vermont in about 1979 and there was a guy with an Eldorado I believe on ther ferry. I liked the fact that it was unique and had never seen one. I hope to be riding for a long time now. Cheers to all my other geezer friends here!

I just had my 72nd birthday and celebrated with a short ride on the GRiSO. The bike is different in a good way from any other I've owned and that includes 2 older Guzzis. I think this bike will be here when I get too old to ride in, oh.. about 10 years or so.

My dad rode his R90 until he was 85.  You'll make it there and beyond with the right attitude.  I've been wanting a GRiSO for a long tine, but keep thinking, "I'm getting old.  I should buy a lighter V7."  I'm 62.  If I can make until 85 on a bike, I should be able to handle the GRiSO that long.  It's a head vs. heart thing.  My head says, "V7".  My heart says, "GRiSO".

Have you test ridden both bikes Pokeyjoe? Can't recall if you mentioned you had or not. If you don't get the GRiSO you might always wish you had even if it's for a short time. Then again, if you do get one and sell it, you may certainly miss it Sad .

Hopefully my legs hold out for many years as I'd still like to be riding the GRiSO decades from now if parts are still available. It'll be the Green Barchetta I can leave to one of my nephews after gov'ts pass their prohibitive Motor Laws. Laughing

I turned 67 in June. I would bet I am one of the oldest on the forum. Age played no part in my GRiSO selection, it's just a cool bike and fun to ride. I have been riding since 1967 and I can't see stopping anytime soon. You have to keep pushing the boundaries. My biggest fear has never been death, only the loss of mobility...

As a V7 rider, I'd say go with the heart! Get the GRiSO. It's much more exciting that way. You can always do sensible later, after you get old.
