Hey Pete, that's such a memorable phrase I don't even have to look it up in the archive, and it's been a long time.

You were explaining that much of the problem with GRiSO blinkers is related to crap/corroded/loose connections, which happen to be in the tail section and are "a right front-bottom" to get at.

Not sure what that means, but I expect it involves a water soluble lubricant.

Anyway, mine finally crapped out after a long 'warning' period. You or anyone else got any pics or more detailed information on digging up these connections? Having found them, then what?
While in there, anything else?

Valves noisier, and noisier...8V '09.

My 09 did that as well...
I used dialectic grease on all connectors and it was good remedy.
Said connectors aren't hard to find but you don't have much slack to work comfortably with them unless you're a gynecologist. lol
Sorry, no pics.

May I suggest removing the snorkel from your airbox, and not replacing it. Then, you can fit your hand right up inside (unless you have outlandishly large hands) and grab said wires. They are fairly short, but you can still unplug the blinkies and clean terminals.

I agree Mark, that snorkel is in the way of getting in there.
Mine's long gone...

Hey. Got sidetracked, old folks, funeral arrangements, you know the drill.

So, wait, what? Dielectric? But that's an insulator. And we are talking about marginal/corroded/Luigi'd connectors. The idea is to improve the contact, reduce resistance, protect the contact, which, silly me, means some sort of a conductive grease, IE an "electrical contact lubricant".

Whut am I missin'?

There was a recent discussion and a useful link over at wg site which should clarify dielectric grease vs a product designed to do what you mention-

Damn. The lights must *finally* be coming on in my head. Or more likely it's a case of a stopped clock being right twice a day.

Great article. Thank you jomartijr, thank you Wayne Orwig.
