I'd have to get considerably younger than I am already to have the bottle to get anywhere close to those speeds on anything. Although I suppose I could work up to it gradually. I don't think anyone's going to lend me, say, an MGS01 for a year or five.

Recently got this Scorpion at a great closeout price here:

Superb helmet for a bargain price. I'll never own another helmet without the flip down internal sun visor.

I am meeting a Vozz rep tommorow, here at Taree, as they travel north to Brisvegas. I wont be able to test fly one unfortunately. I was hoping there would be no wind noise. Good on ya Mal.

I want a flip up helmet with the internal visor. The interwebs tells me they're somewhat noisy. Couldn't be any worse than my poxy Shoei? Although my new ear plugs have done wonders.

I need to go up to Frenchs Forrest for a fitting. The 'Large' I bought is way too small for my great boofy head.

I wear a Schubert C3 Pro.
I always like wind in my face (not yours Beetle) so ride with the main visor up.
With the tinted inner visor down there is still too much turbulence inside the helmet for my eye balls.
But I always wear sunglasses outdoors, I find these are better for eye comfort.

Helmet is still reasonably quite with main visor up.

My Nolan is quite good. Not using plugs with it. Used my old Shark Evo flip up the other day and couldn't believe how much noisier it was.

Nice interesting report btw, MalG. Thanks for posting.

Rode 600km with it today (Bylong Valley loop) - comfortable all day. Only got a few minutes heavy rain on the M1, but the drops beaded off the visor (but it's still only new). There was dense fog from Kurrajong to Mt Wilson too, but no internal fogging at all, but not a decent test. Rode into the sun on the Old Road - the overhang above the visor acts as a minimal peak & was OK. Used earplugs, so noise was fine. Squashed insects clean off as usual. Wish it were quiet enough to do without earplugs.

Even though my C3 is pretty quiet with out ear plugs , i use them..  i wonder if any helmet could be as good as riding with plugs ..thing is for me i need the protection that the plugs provide , as to bouts of ear infections when i was younger and also from what i have learned of hearing protection re safety products i sell via my work when you are made aware of how easily your hearing can be damaged it opens your mind to what is available.
i have friends with poor hearing due to work and to loud music as a profession and they wish they had taken precautions much earlier in life.
My mother was deaf from the age of 55 to her passing at 92 scarlet fever was the culprit in her case but she often said how much she missed music and being able to communicate well, she was a author.
for me at 62 my hearing is near perfect and i feel privileged for that.
cheers

My intention this month was to replace my old flip Shark Evoline 2 with the newer Evoline 3, I like the drop down visor, the choice of open or full face helmet and it IS a good combo helmet. However, met the VOZZ rep in Taree today with Charlie, and came away with a new VOZZ helmet.
So 'Ditto' on mals comments regarding comfort and vision, he's spot on. I personnaly did not find the wind noise to bad once I had adjusted the chin cup for a better fit and ears plugs I can live with, so no real down side for me atm. Plus the spare visor, cleaning kit,T shirt, cap and travel bag. Smile
Guess the Darth Vaidor look will grow on me! What a Face

You got a cleaning kit, t-shirt & cap as well? Score! I'll play with the chin cup. Gaffer tape didn't make any difference. As for the Darth Vader look - how often do you pose in front of a mirror with your helmet on? I thought so! YOU won't even notice.

Well, after several sleepless nights and much hand-wringing, I dropped the hard-earned on a Shark Evoline Pro Carbon. I had decided that I wanted a modular helmet, and had been eyeing off the Schuberth C3 Pro, but decided I wanted to be able to flip the chin bar all the way back and use it like an open face on the road without the wind blast trying to snap my neck. It weighs about 60g less than my Shoei, and I now wonder why I sprung the extra for the carbon version? Unless modular helmets are normally much heavier than standard types? No idea, as this is my first flip up. Of course, the built in sun visor adds weight...

..back from road test.

Happy Camper. cheers

Much quieter than the TZX. Weird thing, the noise with the chin bar flipped back is the same with it in the forward position. Shocked
I like the sun visor. Dark smoke is not my choice of sunglass, I like brown lenses. However, I found the sun visor more than adequate and pretty comfortable. It's a keeper.

I love you

I have a Nolan N85, quite good but not as good as my N82.

Am looking at a Shoei NXR just for a change, anyone with reviews on this helmet

Is the chin bar on this model also made of carbon fibre? I saw a Evoline Pro Carbon helmet sitting on a bike seat at Phillip Island last weekend and I couldn't be certain the chin bar was.

I have a Shoei Neotec (upgrade after having a MultiTec).
I really enjoy a modular helmet.

I may grab a Hornet so I "look the part" on the Tiger... MSF Rider Coaches get a 50% (approx) discount on one Shoei / year...

that Shark looks nice beetle!

Beetle, just make sure you apply the supplied lubricant on the rubber seal for the visor. Other wise it tends to fold over time.
