Well I never!

A few months ago one of the members here kindly sent me his Pazzo brake and clutch levers. Well the other day I finally got around to fitting them and I'm absolutely gobsmacked by what a difference they've made!

Previously I'd swapped out the stock levers, which I was never happy with as they seemed to trigger my arthritis, for some of the readily available Hong Kong aftermarket units. These worked well enough but they didn't *feel* particularly good and control was seemingly less than subtle. With the change to the Pazzos it's been a revelation! Despite the angles and dimensions being identical the Pazzos have superb *feel* and for some reason give a level of control and confidence that completely overshadows their cheaper counterparts from HK! I have no idea why this should be so but truly it is! Amazing!

Seriously, they probably are ever so slightly different in shape and curvature.

You can get a glass of good Chianti in Hong Kong, but it can never be great like the same glass of Chianti you had in Siena. Or in this case, Canada.

I think it's just that their shap and fit are superior to the knock-offs. I was really surprised by how much better they are. Certainly the profile of the front of the lever where you exert the pressure is far superior.

The first thing I purchased for my GRiSO in July was some silver Pazzo levers @ the recommendation of AF1Racing and I love them.. I have the adjustable short levers in silver and black.

I've had the "Crazy" levers on my GRiSO since 2007 GRiSO #1. They've survived a few get offs at both high and low speeds no worse for the wear. The quality is superb, I put cheap, Chinese knock-offs on the Stelvio and the difference is remarkable.

They are spendy, but the Pazzos are built to last.

Took a MV Brutale 800 for a spin on Friday(they didnt have a f3 test bike), engine meh, brakes holey farrrrrrrrk but at 50 kg lighter than a GRiSO its probably to be expected...

also had a go on the brutale 675, loved the engine was just angrier than its big brother revs to 15K...

Back on topic, maybe its time to think about a brake upgrade for the GRiSO, after i get the roller tappets done.

Yes I did try the 800 MV, and brakes were great, maybe even to much. Might indeed have to do with the weight. But I have the monoblock brembo radials, and they are good too. ANd cheap as they come of ducati/mv/ktm superbikes that get totaled all the time. What finishes it, is a radial pump. I have it on the daytona, not yet on the stelvio.

Brakes will be improved if you throw away the stock pads and fit a set of HH pads, the EBC ones seem to work well on many Grisos and will improve performance and feel.
As Paul suggested a properly matched radial master cylinder will improve things further.
A lot of people have used Brembo etc., I fitted a nissin one which I purchased from Japan because it is well made, was more reasonably priced and the clincher I can get parts to repair it which is not always possible or easy for the Italian stuff.
Keep in mind if you are not on a race track with a known and consistent surface having mega brakes without the ABS system newer bikes are running could be nasty, good and progressive feel is probably more important for a road bike then ultimate power.

Paul: Those are sweet! Can you give some guidance as to what terms to use when buying a used set off ebay: brembo model number; brembo description ("monobloc"?); bikes fitted to; etc.

Assume the bolt centers are same, same.

While i'm on this vein:

What other bikes use same Showa fork as GRiSO? Suzuki GSXR 600 and 750, right? What year?

I'm mulling about the idea of a forged aluminum wheel as GRiSO front wheels are pretty rare for how mundane they are. Again, any guidance most appreciated.

european bikes mostly have the 100mm spacing, only not shure about triumph.
