I was wondering what a good average cylinder pressure test would read as I use to take the pressures on my old Trident which gave me a history and when to sort it out. [that was 150,000 miles for new rings and a hone, it had been dropping over a period]
As I did not do this previously when I got the Guzzi and have only just started I am interested in knowing what figures I ought to expect [I realise that there will be variances]?

Does the pressure alter depending on flat tappets and roller?  Does the valve clearances make a difference too as there seems to be 2 values of clearance that can be used on the 1200's [belive 0.1 and 0.15 are the ones].

If running a standard compression test a healthy 8V will pump up to between 165-180 PSI.

Remember to remove the TB's or unhook the injectors and coils and then hold the throttle wide open while allowing the bike to crank.
