My bar levers are not as pretty as I would like. The lacquering is starting to come off at the knuckle dulling the alloy. What is the best fix?

Could not be arsed to even think about stripping them and re lacquering.

Replace with new guzzi ones or aftermarket ?

Big vote here for aftermarket. Specifically the cheapo Chinese billet ones.
Off EBay etc, but delivery can be a few weeks from the Middle Kingdom.
I (and other cheap bastards on here) haven't really found any significant difference in quality to the really expensive ones.
Don't forget about heating the loctite on the little 'pin' on the clutch. Plenty of info on here about it.

I have to say that I was amazed at the difference between the cheap knock offs and the Pazzos I was given by a kind list member. Chalk and cheese!

Love my Pazzo shorties. Might have to sell them when I swap over to the Brembo radials.

I've had the same set og Pazzo Racing levers on all three of my GRiSOs and a set of the Chinese knockoffs on the Stelvio. I'm singing the same song as Roper. There is no comparison.

Yet for the price, the knockoff levers are an improvement over the OEM items.

Mine were wrecked and looked awful so i bought these off ebay,
REZO Short Adjustable Silver Clutch/Brake Levers MOTO GUZZI GRiSO 06-15
they fitted perfectly and the quality is very very good. just be careful removing the operating rod out of the old clutch lever.

Took the advice and went from original via short knock offs a couple of years to long Pazzo a week ago.  Shocked  Laughing

Not cheap, but the precision and quality made for a whole new experience.
Clutch went from heavy workout to unbelievable light action, and brake have way better feel. All because the force you put into the lever is directed to where it is supposed to go.

And for the knock offs the adjuster needed to stay in top position to make sense, praying it would not jump off to a different setting.  Evil or Very Mad
Now I have the Pazzo firmly clicked in mid position with fairly the same grip opening. Cool

I agree. I've changed my mind about lever length. Shorties might look good, but length gives better feel.

Given that, if anyone here has radial m/c's and would like shorter levers, I have a set of black Pazoma levers you can have for cost of postage.

cheers

Is this what you gentlemen  Wink guys are talking about?

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Among the many things in life that make me cringe in fear is changing out levers.  Please tell me -- lying is OK  Rolling Eyes  -- that this is in the reach (NPI) of someone who finds changing oil a small challenge.

Oh ... and while Roper mocks and belittles as a whiner anyone who mutters about the heavy clutch pull, I sure would be happier if mine were less.  So, while I slept through HS physics classes, I am supposing any improvement in that regard with these comes from the mechanical advantage of a longer lever and throw?

Back outside now to paint electrical boxes and other things that Kathi insists "clash" with the house.  I never even saw 'em before, but one must do what one must do.  queen

You can do it! The hardest part is getting the clutch plunger off the old lever without cursing a blue streak and causing cuts and abrasions. Razz

You suppose correctly.
