I checked / adjusted my valves - I'm happy to do so regularly so I went for the tighter USA spec .10 and .15 they weren't a mile out before and I have no clatter before or after.

I did notice that on the left side (sitting on the bike) the plug was running far richer and the rocker arms were far more oil stained does this point to a running issue ?

I haven't balanced the TB yet, that's next on my list

Balance the throttle bodies, then see. Is the sacred screw intact?

On an 1100 the Sacred Screw is in the same basic position but looks a bit different. It's in an alloy pin and has no nut that it is set in.

Yes, yellow paint is still on the screw, TPS and both ends of the linkage rod

Awaiting adaptors to arrive so I can connect a manometer

Then I can test a Beetle map Smile

I have to point out that I'm doing all this despite there being no obvious problem but the last owner neglected it for 5yrs / 10k - he changed the oil but that's all.
