Exhaust pipe help. 1100

So I decided to go with a stock exhaust on my new to me 1100.
Found a cheap one on EBay and showed up today. When I removed the
old exhaust, I found that the stock slip on pipe is around 2.5” and the the stock
pipe (with 02 sensor) it connects to is around 2”. Am I missing something here?

Yep, you're missing the sleeve gasket... it's about 1/8 thick.

I've done this in the past: turned down an aluminium cylinder the right size to fit. Cut a V into it so it can be tightened with clamps. Works a treat, and doesn't require replacement like the original gaskets (whatever material they are made from and a bit spendy), however the originals do provide "some" anti-vibration characteristics, I think.

Yup, part # 15. Grisos aren't too hard on these gaskets. Stelvios are a whole different kettle of bananas.
