Some very artsy people in New York came up with this bike, and for unknown reasons called it the "Tractor 02":

Not too bad, although I think I like the original Stone better.  Also not sure why one need this type of tires when "riding throughout the bumpy streets of Manhattan while swerving between the crowded traffic of taxi cabs and buses".

It seems the designers looked carefully at some good old bikes from the 80's:

Most likely it's because people sometimes call Guzzi's "Tractors" - for example Greg Bender's very good Guzzi site [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The whole knobby tires thing is very hot with the custom bike crowd right now - they are rapidly gaining on the Firestone Deluxe Champions as the hottest poor tire choice. Plus street trackers and 70s scrambler style bikes are now more highly regarded by the hipsters than cafe racers. The mini non-functional "fender" on the front pretty much confirms this was built for someone who values form over function. I'm guessing the owner puts less than 500 miles on it and then sells it to "fund another project",

All that snakiness aside, I think it looks pretty good - but better with tires without so much sidewall.

As an aside: how do these photographers get the bikes to stand upright without stands? Is that just a matter of some Photoshopping?

I think that it looks very good for that bike.
I would NEVER own one but it looks right for a small block.

For bicycles you just get someone to hold it and let go just before the shot is taken.

As a photographer I can tell you that the distance between the bike and the back wall is not very far so they have the bike resting with the handlebar against the back drop. The floor curves up to meet the wall so it looks as though the bike is standing all by itself.
