Blooty hell.

Swingarm rubber had to be replaced.

Easy to remove the swingarm but ran into an issue removig one conrad bolt.
Several attempts did not work out.

One assumes that your impact won`t budge it ?

A pin point flame in the bolt recess, then let it cool

Breaker bar with a cheater pipe is my go to

Looking for the needle bearings. TLM only got two avail in store.
If 18X24X16 is the right size, vespa v50 fork needle bearing should fit for half the prize.

Is that size correct? (had to destroy mine while taking them out)

Hi Deepdive,
When i did the suspension links on mine most of the needle rollers were damaged or rusted and 2 of the inner bearing tubes were badly worn.

The cost of all those parts plus the side seals was more than the cost of two new and assembled con-rods.

Worth checking

This is what I always recommend. Just grease the new one properly before installation. The wishbone is worth rebuilding if it isn't cracked.

Wool gathering as I contemplate winter maintenance

New conrods complete approx. $540 US

OE bearings are $6 each ( $42 for 7 pcs)
 OE oil seals are $3 each  ( $24 for 8 pcs )
The 3 bearing tubes are $115
So it appears components are $180

I can order sealed bearings for $20 each or "open" for $10 from McMaster Carr

When the frost arrives, I will dissect and see what I need.

Once I get eyes on this mechanism I will determine if adding grease zerks is doable and or desirable

As always your thoughts are welcome

TIA

Used SKF HK 1816 18mm I.D Needle Roller Bearing, 24mm O.D (for the wishbone, same dimensions for all). Less number of needles, but they they do not fall out one by one.

Bought the link as a used part, and it was to my eyes in "perfect" condition. $90US plus shipping...

And now I can look for parts to refurbish my old link for next time... Think the axles will be the main cost.

Edit - loosening the bolt; it is not threaded in the casting. So after removing the nut, you should be able to press it or give it a few good knocks (although heat might be good as well as long as you already have it apart)

Those are beautiful prices!
about 1/4 what i was quoted over here
At those prices i would have refurbished my originals!
