PostSubject: Blown fuse!   Blown fuse! Icon_minitime1Wed Sep 10, 2014 7:41 am

Hi All,
Got back from my ride today (bike is running great) stopped to drop something off at my house and when I returned minutes later the bike would not start again!
It turns out that the 20amp fuse for the starter relay had blown.
Are there any issues with blown fuses on the GRiSO?

Cheers,
Wildhenry

ps I'll carry a set of spare fuses in future!

Yes.  Active discussion in this thread [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]over in the Garage sub-forum.

Synopsis: Check terminal and solenoid connections for loose fit and/or corrosion.  Consider adding a bypass directly to the battery (kits also available for this).  Always travel with spare fuses.

Hi,

Many thanks...Any idea were I can get a bypass kit?
From now on there will be a spare set of fuses under the seat!

Hi Wildhenry,

Instead of using a bypass kit, I ran a wire with a fuse-holder containing a 15 amp fuse directly from the battery to pin 5 on the starter relay.

I removed the yellow wire from pin 5 and taped up the end so that it doesn't short to earth as this is not needed now that we are running directly to the battery.

I was able to undo the wire from pin 5 without cutting it so I can put it back stock if I want to.
Hope this helps,

Guzzi Cat

"GRiSO won't start after a ride" thread contains the info on this. See my post there.
