New one from the Netherlands, Europe Empty
PostSubject: New one from the Netherlands, Europe    New one from the Netherlands, Europe Icon_minitime1Tue Oct 22, 2013 2:19 am

Hi,

I'm Ad B from the south of a fairly small country in Europe, the Netherlands.
And yes, I drive a GRiSO, a GRiSO 1200 8v from 2009.

I'm driving motorcycle from the day I became 18... (a century ago...) Nearly 37 years ago Embarassed .
I have driven all kinds of Japanese stuff, the last 20 years before I saw "the Guzzi Light" a special build Harley. What a Face
Why a GRiSO??
It was nearly love at first sight in 2006, when I saw a GRiSO 1100 in a Guzzi bike shop.
It took 4 years before I could leave my HD. I knew every bolt on that bike and why that bolt was at thát place.
I had built it myself, so there was only ONE. An importing issue with me... scratch

I left my HD because I missed the fully "Joe Bar feeling"..., think you know who/what Joe Bar is... Laughing
My GRiSO was nearly 1 year young with only 2200 km (1375 mls) on it.
I did a lot of stuff myself on my G12, I'll explain in the proper topic...
In the second month I owned my G12, I bought a special made T-shirt with the text:
I don't know if my GRiSO is the best bike... But it's the best bike for me!!
That reflexes my feeling, my love for this awesome and beautiful piece of machinery, this bike.
My Joe Bar feeling is back!! bounce

Okay, I'll keep my mouth shut for this moment... Sleep  the picture says enough

The explaining of my work on my G12 will come in a few days or so... Mad

For now...
cheers
Ad B

Welcome aboard Ad B! Great intro and photograph of your GRiSO.  One question:  it looks like you have changed out your front fender, from the stock (and kind of cheap) plastic one.  How did you manage to do this?  Also, I need to get some of those engine cylinder guards like you have; I think they come from Stucchi.  Thanks again for joining our Board and tell us some stories of life in Holland. Is that name still used for the Netherlands?

To my eye, his front fender is still a stocker, but he's added a decal on the leading edge...

Yeah Steve- you're right. My front fender is matte black plastic. His looks more shiny/glossy;
that's what made me think it was maybe a steel unit. But I guess the earlier front fenders were
also plastic; just not matte black.

Hi,

Thanks for your reactions, questions and remarks.Razz
My front fender?
That's just the original one, (cheap No ?) plastic. Shiney black with alu color.
Nothing special.Wink
Exept the piece at the back of the front fender.
That is a fender extender... "Extenda Fenda" from Pyramid Plastics in the UK.
My engine keeps a bit more clean as without and that piece is matte black

I also have the Hugger at the back wheel from them. scratch
