Map building and logging runs are a bit like war has been described. Long periods of inactivity and boredom punctuated by pure terror! No, really, at least for me it's intersting because I get to observe and ask dumbfuck questions. Having the company of nutters who are capable of stringing a sentence together is also good! Rounding the day off with drinks and a passable feed with good laughs just makes it sweeter!  Pete | |

| Fuck birthdays! When you get to be over fifty they all suck! Anyway, I think FIG achieved a lot. As had been suspected the Mistral Hi-Pipe/No dBk map was slobberingly rich with the Lo-pipe/dbK. Mark S reckoned it felt good and smooth but this is the classic falsehood. Sure it *Feels* smooth and powerful but that's because the burn is soft,slow and inefficient, not to mention wasteful. Anyway, it isn't finished. I'll let Mark and FIG fill in any detail but the 'Conical Lo-Pipe' map seems to be coming along well. After a couple more runs this morning we all buggered off to Gundaroo for Pizza, (Thanks Mark!) before the two visitors set off for their 3-4 hour rides home. I've had much worse birthdays, believe me!  Pete | |
