I am replacing the engine temp sensor holder. What sort of thread paste should be put on the standard copper one and the replacement brass one.? The standard copper one unwound from the head no dramas, I used my inner plug socket, but that thread had had some sort of smeg on it. Do Copper and Aluminium react Thanks.

Your an Ex Pusser Charlie , you would know in the presence of water copper and alloys hate each other Crying or Very sad
If it's a tapered thread I'd use Loctite 576 white. It's a non setting high pressure sealant. The yellow one 577 sets up hard, used on lpg gas fittings cheers

I am afraid the brass holder is not a proper solution. It would lead to a wrong temp reading because of the higher thermal mass of the bass holder compared to the plastic one.
I remember a thread about it on the v11 forum.
Don't want to start this endless discussion again...

Pete should know more about it
