| Last year I darted my GRiSO as a gauge protector and to deflect a little wind. All the little Dart did was protect the gauges. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]This year the Dart Marlin came out and I had to try. I installed it in about 20 minutes. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]It works great! Still not as nice as my Don Vesco 1/2 Cafe but that was 30+ years ago I've made a number of 5+ hour trips from the valley to Lake Tahoe and back with the Marlin. I'd made the trip before and was worn out with just the Dart. With the Marlin it takes enough of the blast off my chest to extend my range by 2+ hours. I haven't tried for an 8 hours in the saddle ride - yet The Marlin doesn't protect your head but the reduction in blast has allowed me to ride faster and longer. You can't do the elbow on the tank & hide behind the fairing though. The GRiSO's bars are so wide that you really get a right side blast. Of course clip-ons would help thatAll in all I'm very happy with the Dart Marlin on the GRiSO. | |

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And sure better looking, at least IMO, than this one I saw in Derry, N.H.: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Asume this is the place to get either of the Darts? | Looks like that bullet-proof stuff they use at the banks now. With that kind of glass, one may as well just drive a car.

Are you all talking about the small screens or just that big fairing? Bill

| The big, no huge, fairing of course. Looks so out of place and it's painted gloss black and white. | |

Looks so out of place and it's painted gloss black and white. Whew. Good. I like those smaller w/s. The big one was even more garish in "real life" than in the pic. Might have pleased the owner, but it was a trade-in, so mebbe even he had second thoughts. And, while functional, if you need that much weather protection, the GRiSO probably isn't right for you anyway. Bill

Bill There you go. People that don't have a clue about what they want. Using a GRiSO like a FJR...dumb asses.

| I picked my Dart Marlin up at Todd's Guzzitech. These pics are from his website. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| My experience is the same as not-fishing's. I swapped out the traditional (small) Dart for the new Marlin and like the additional protection it provides. The design of the Marlin is along the same lines of the smaller screen and compliments the GRiSO very well (in my opinion).

| Mr. Grisonut, with all due respect, I intend to use my GRiSO just like an FJR. Why? Well, at present, I am limited to one motorcycle. This after having three at one time. The political officer stated that I can have one bike. I best show her who wears the pants in this house soon as I can find them! That being stated, I am 5' 6" tall (what? 1.65m?), 154 lbs (70kg). I had an '06 FJR and rode it as a commuter and a long distance bike. Great machine but a bit heavy and a bit bland. The GRiSO replaced it and a Honda GB 500. Sort of like a bridge between a squirter and a heavy weight. I found at the end of a 600 mile day the FJR just felt cumbersome and I'd be a liar if I didn't tell you I almost had a couple of tip overs after those long days. Never did drop it thank God. The GRiSO is nimble, quick, and now with my bags and panniers as well as a tank bag, does just about anything the FJR would do but without the tippy mass. I ordered an Agostini windshield which just came in today which I hope to pick up in the next day or two from my dealer. Fingers crossed it will serve my purposes and look good too. Before you say "should have bought a Norge!", I recently test rode one. Nice machine but it's not a GRiSO. I'll keep you posted on the Agostini windshield. Might even take a picture and post it if I can figure out how. | |

| Hi guys! I went to my Guzzi dealer to pick up my windscreen for the GRiSO.The Agostini comes in two heights (i.e. measured top to bottom): 265mm and 335mm. The screen and mounting brackets came through AF1. I believe that is the name of the vendor. Well the brain trusts at AF1 sent the "modello piccolo". I know enough Italian to know that they sent the small model not the larger one. Wonderful after waiting three weeks and specifically ordering the larger-taller screen. But wait... it gets worse: some clever soul at AF1 wrote their own part number for the larger screen on the outer wrapper and then seeing the part number I ordered, sent it. Figlio di porca puttana! Back it goes to AF1. You guys that have mounted the Dart product, it appears that it mounts to the turn signal housings or am I wrong? This Agostini windscreen comes with plates which utilize the headlight bezel bolts at 3 and 9 o'clock and appear to use the turn signal housing mounting. Any one with experience with the Agostini screen mounting? Would I be better off canceling the sale and going with the Dart Marlin? The screen I received (265mm) is comparable to the image Not-Fishing posted. The one I ordered is a bit taller (335mm). BTW, the Agostini was not exactly a "blue light special". | |
