Givi Tank bag mounting ring?

I already had bought a small Givi tank bag and was pissed that Givi did not make a mounting ring for the GRiSO.
I called Givi and they were very nice, but said it aint gonna happen, so I suggested Todd make them. Seems he was already on it!

It's taking a bit longer than anticipated. The target price was to be around $80. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Embarassed

Hi,

some 1,5 years ago I bought the "Givi XS307 tanklock" tankbag.

and no, they didn't have a mounting ring for my GRiSO.
So I bought a Givi mounting ring for a Ducati and... I bought a mounting set from SW-Motech:
SW-Motech GRiSO set
The mounting set for a GRiSO.
I only used the alu ring to mount the Givi adapter (with 3 bolts)...

Enough space between the bag and tank. So my tank isn't going to be scratched by the bag.

I was not be able to log in forum lately because of havily making Givi tanklock adapter for GRiSO (850/1100/1200/SE) It was about 45 days ago I first attended this forum, intruduce myself and announced GRiSO tank adapter that I made for Givi Tanklock tank bags. I didn't read about you, till this week. So I didn't know you are the engineer of that adapter.
I've read about you and the Givi adapter on Guzzitech.
So I had ordered your adapter through Todd from Guzzutech. Neutral

When I recieve the adapter, it has made a good trip...
From your place (Turkey) to US (Californië) and to my place, the Netherlands.
I think I will not make such a trip myself... Rolling Eyes

Your adapter looks much nicer, cleaner as my solution I made to fit the Givi bag. Embarassed

Well... Netherland is 10th. country my adapter travelled so far. Other 9 was Australia, USA (only California), Great Britain, Ireland, Russia, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Poland. I have no idea how many GRiSO are there in those countries but I think highest percentage for adapter sold / GRiSO owners(18%) is in Turkey. 2 adapter fixed (including mine) but we have only 11 GRiSO all over Turkey Very Happy

Is it possible to spray this material in alu color?
Would the paint stay put?

No one answered that, but having recently mounted mine, can understand why you asked and also suppose that the answer to the second question is, given the on/off moving contact of the mechanism, "no." Lots of smart people here who may have a way to do that, tho.

I installed the ring a week or so ago, but only got the tank bag yesterday. Okuraner's instructions were great, tho for folks like me, it might be better to include something to the effect of: "Be careful while removing and reinstalling fasteners not to drop same into tank." Actually, I didn't, but it was a close-run thing. Embarassed

I am very pleased with this purchase. Tried it out on a local ride and it's great. Got the small bag, which is just fine for my day-ride needs. Will use it with the C-Bow H-B's for longer trips. Will be easier now to hand the police officer my license and registration, etc., rather than my previous fumbling. Wink

Only minor snag is that it appears that the bag. It seems to fit slightly off center. Not sure that is why, or if it's fixable, and, of course, it really doesn't matter. Really appreciate having this adaptor.

Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately not possible to paint ring to alu color or to any color. Because the material (Delrin) repelles liquids so paint will be easily removable.
When you put the small bag on the adapter, it looks and seems like 2 mm to the left from the axis. That is the fault of Givi. Mechanism under 3D type bags are 2 mm right side from the axis. But XS type bags do not have this problem.
If you are insisting to have alu color adapter, I can make one from aluminum for you but it will be twice as heavier from the Delrin and postage fee will be around $30 I won't charge anything for the material.

BTW, I just amended my post lest the original wording be somehow taken as dissatisfaction with your ring, which is not the case at all. I am VERY pleased.

The slightly "off" mounting sort of befits our asymmetrical Grisos, anyway Very Happy

and I am happy with the 3d bag, so all is well.

As for painting, figured. Not a big deal. Certainly not worth it (to me) for a color match!

Finally, and perhaps I have missed this among these tank-bag threads, but have you considered making something similar for the Norge?
