Prices of these are starting to go through the roof - probably due to the slide of the Pacific Peso (Ozzy Dollar) in world currencies.
Anyone know of an economical source of supply?
$745 here; $499 in USD

You've seen Mr Bob's - not often you can do a house visit in a tent.

I have only just purchased a lightweight Marmot Tungsten 2P tent (on sale at Mountain Designs) for all year round camping in Tassie. I'll put it use this year and give some feedback on the kit I have put together.
I have considered the Vango for warmer weather and going to festivals. Primarily as I would have it set up for a couple of days at a time and would not so conscious of weight and the time for set-up and pack-up.
Here are a couple of vids:

Heather and I used mine on our trip to Casterton at Xmas. Temperatures ranged from 4 celcius to 42 celcius in 4 days. The tent was great, we had the GRiSO inside the first night and still had room for 2 chairs and a table, and then there are the sleeping quarters, which easily sleep 2. The tent stood up to 50 k winds without a problem. The only concern was the condensation in the garage area, but we folded it up and then put it up to air when we got home. I was lucky and bought mine when the dollar was high against the US dollar. Great tent.

Timely. After getting a tour of one at the Guzzi National this year, the wife and I are going to buy one too. I love the idea of being able to stand up to change etc. Nice having the storage room and porch area.

Also saw a video on Youtube of a Primus Bifrost H4 - at 650 euro right up there in pricing but currently unavailable.
WCB, which tent are you looking at, the Redverz?
I might spin for the Vango - being the price conscious (tight arse) bastard that I am.

Had the tent for a few years now and am very happy with it. Packs down nicely and is easy to carry. Suggest that if buying one, make sure you also get the ground sheet that goes under the sleeping area. This is made to fit with fixtures at each corner, bit of a pain to fit but worth it.

Just spun for the Wild Earth tent - on special for $303. Awesome - probably not as good as the Redverz, but certainly better than my little Blackwolf Dragonfly, which is getting harder to get in and out of (apart from falling into it - Bob knows).
Got it from here:Tent including 29% off - gotta love the innerneck

Certain people, Bob, gotta keep the riff-raff out. Now I'll need to start a list of who's in and who's out.
It's all good Bob, you're on the welcome list, as are a few others. Each case taken on its own merits.

I have one of the Redverz tents. It's pretty cool, easy to erect when calm and not bad when it's not. They don't work so well where it's rocky because they need guy lines to stay up, if the rocks are big not too bad. I would love something like it that was freestanding. I need the ability to stand up because of some physical limitations. It is also is pretty heavy to carry. Lot of space that's for sure and I like that.

Well, Vango Tour 200 tent arrived during the week and initial thoughts are that it's a direct clone of the Redverz tent. Some shots in my (unusually) green back yard:

I think I am happy with that purchase: less than half the Redverz and the carry bag and groundsheet was included - optional extra on the Redverz, as is the groundsheet.
Can't wait to try it out...
