OK, anybody interested in coming down one weekend soon and participating in the motive unit swap on Ralf's bike?

This will be a learning/teaching experience for anyone that is interested.

The Tasmanian Stelvio wreck is arriving this afternoon. In the next week I'm hoping to have enough time to pull the engine out of it, clean the sump and replace the damaged bits so that the swap will simply involve dropping the moribund lump out of Ralf's chassis and sliding in the new one. I also have my crank and rods back from machining so if we have the time and inclination I can go through a bottom end rebuild with people too.

If people want to stay we'll need to plan a weekend and book accommodation. We don't have room for everyone here so we recommend the Rpyal Hotel if you're OK with pub type rooms. If you want something a bit more upmarket there is the Carrington but what ever you do don't stay at the 'Bungendore Budget Motel' as you are liable to end up with some truly horrid disease and may in fact be murdered in your bed. The Lake George Hotel also has ensuite rooms but the pub itself is a soul-less hole. There are a plentitude of eateries but the two hotels are probably the best, Royal does Chinese, Lake George does up market pub fare but is expensive and not as good as it pretends it is.

If anybody wishes to photograph or film the swap for the purpose of producing a photoessay or Utube vid? so much the better.

Pete

Well, it's arrived. Needs rocker cover and timing chest cover as expected front end is mashed but CARC, swingarm etc all good. ECU and loom look OK. I'll hook into it ASAP.

Let us know when. I'm sure the main principles are common across the models, with minor variations. A prac tute would be useful.
