| Lookin' good Steven. Esther and I are going to do almost the reverse of that loop later in August to celebrate our anniversary before she goes back to work, but we'll be taking the sidecar with Jellybean. Safe travels!

| Unfortunately I am not at home and my GRiSO is standing idle in the shed. Your bike may behave funny as it feels some fellow GRiSO-vibes if you pass through Nelson BC, on your way to Revelstoke.
Happy trails!!!!

| 367 miles by myself today to meet the guys down here in Cascade Locks. Didn't take any pics along the WA/OR coast, but it was about 10 degrees cooler than going inland. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Over 600 (623?) miles today. Crazy great roads. Antelope to Fossil was great. As was the Oregon Scenic Bypass Route. I did find out that my bike runs out of gas at 194.7 miles. Haha! Thank you to a little old lady, Sarah Wood, in Haines, OR or happily offering me 2 gallons of gas. She also let me stand in front of her sprinkler for a bit. It was 104 degrees! Arrived in Riggins, ID at 930 tonight. Prairie City, OR [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Haines, OR. Out of gas. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Another eventful day. 80 miles out of Riggins, Dean hits a pothole and pops his rear tube in the pass near Culdesac. We ride into Lewiston, ID about 30 miles and everything was closed. Here comes a retired cop named Russ who got his truck and trailor and picked up Dean. Dropped us at the HD dealership where 3 of us spent most of the remaining day. He refused any kind of compensation and actually threw the money we gave him out the window and drove off. The other guys took off to Whotefish, MT. We ended up only getting to Spokane - but wasn't complying too much about beating the 100+ temps in a/c and with free hotdogs and ice cold water. We'll meet up with them in Osoyoos tomorrow. | Agreed. I know a nice little motel in Osoyoos - Boundary Motel. Esther and I will spend a night there in a few weeks. | The guys came into Spokane in the afternoon, so we sprung for a great dinner at Clinkerdagger. Dinner view from the outdoor patio didn't suck. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Breakfast in Creston, WA. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Dean's HD problems continued. When he popped his tire, he also cracked his header near the O2 sensor. The result was surging and massive backfires from his FI running super rich. In Brewster talking to the HD dealership. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Because of this and impending thundershowers tomorrow, we decided to cut our tour short by a day. Came over HWY 20 through Winthrop, Oso, La Connor and home. My OCD made me wash off all signs of a great vacation. All in all we did almost 1700 miles while the other 4 guys got to 2100 miles. | Sounds like a great trip, Steven. Just curious what your average resting time was while waiting for the Hardleys to catch up. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]“Danger + Survival = Fun.” - Neil Peart[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | |

| Haha! That's funny Pete. The two fastest guys were Don (BMW K1300GT) and Paul (BMW R1200RT). They would take off. The next group wasn't too far behind with me, Kurt (BMW R1200R) and the infamous Dean (HD Roadking). We had to wait a few minutes for the last group of Michael (HD Roadking) and Steve (Honda 1800). All in all, a bunch of very capable riders. | |
