PostSubject: Mapping question   Mapping question Icon_minitime1Fri Sep 02, 2016 12:03 pm

Just ordered a GuzziDiag Cable kit from lonelec to try the mappings that beetle provides for rollerized with a Termi. While looking around I noticed the tuning requirements and the specified valve clearances. How am I supposed to check those? Does that mean that I have to go to a shop to have them check the values? What if they differed? Could I break stuff?

Thx for clarification

You won't break stuff, but unless the valves are currently set, the engine won't run as it should. You basically need to do what Markus (Sachs) did. Set your valves and check your throttle body balance.

cheers

Hmm ok,

as I can't do that myself I'll have to check with the shop about that. Thanks for the quick reply.

And make sure the shop uses 0.1mm inlet and 0.15mm as the clearances, regardless of what they believe the factory says.

My advice would be find another local Grisisti who can take you through a tune up. It's not hard to do and if you learn it will always be right.

If you'se blokes want a walk through? As long as you have the tools I'll make time in early October and come and walk you through it.

Pete

You gotta be kidding. Me doing a valve clearance setting? I am a manually totally untalented IT guy. If I'd try she'd probably blow up during the first trip Very Happy Thanks for the offer of doing the walk through, should you ever be in Germany I'd happily accept.

Maybe the other german Grisisti in the forum Markus (Sachs) would be willing to lend a hand?
