Anyone had the experience of their fuel tank's paint crazing and lifting ? This is on a 1200 Sport that's in the UK. I know the V7's had an issue early on, but my local dealer has never known it on any other models. Ethanol is obviously the culprit but I thought that the U.S was mostly blessed with the stuff not here. Had a GRiSO for 3 years without this happening. Its a year out of warranty but Piaggio invited the dealer to take some snaps and send them in, i'm not holding my breath for a new tank, but its a bit of a ballache.

My mate Peter had this problem with his red 1200 Sport 8V. Bubbled up all around the tank. I warrantied it. They weren't happy but they coughed!

When I purchased my GRiSO I noticed some small discolored areas would come and go on the tank, seemingly at random, but these seemed to have stopped now. I *never* use fuel with ethanol and make certain of it each time I refuel, perhaps that's why the tanks 'skin' has cleared up ?
