I fitted a Dart Marlin screen to the 1100 GRiSO a couple of weeks ago and thought I would comment on it.

The Marlin is basically a bigger version of Dart's Classic fly screen which I thought would be better for my 6'2" frame. Like the the Classic it is very well made and comes in 3 tints, I went for the dark tint in keeping with the black bike.

It is dead easy to fit using the headlamp and indicator bolts and was ready to roll in 15 minutes. Initial impressions was it wasn't much better than the small Guzzi screen which came with the bike so I had another look at the mounting position. To steepen the screen angle I added two 10mm long spacers to the top screen fixings and this then did make a difference.

The Marlin is still a relative small screen so it was never going to be a touring fairing but it does provide improved wind protection without creating extra noise or buffeting and allows for relaxed 90mph cruising in all but strong head winds.
I am hoping come the winter it will take a bit of the wind chill factor away but it is still warm in UK so it is acting as a bug defender for now.

For anyone looking for a bit more protection for the GRiSO I would say it is good buy and doesn't effect the looks too much, so all in all a 8/10 rating.

Concur on fitment, ease of installation, looks, and utility. Will add that Dart customer service is first-class.  Very Happy

And, the hardware and fit sure are better than the large (POS, IMO) OEM one I tried first.  The Guzzi product was so "off" that it led to cracking the (also POS) plastic headlight bucket.  Sad

Of course, all of my "POS" comments are of the YMMV variety as I sent it to Lord Roper who apparently had no trouble at all installing it on his GRiSO.  Maddening.  scratch   Embarassed

I am not troubled by the "rake," so left that alone.  One can't avoid riding in the rain, but I try.   Wink

Bill

Not quite Bill. Your factory screen was weird, well not the screen but the mounts. It certainly wasn't a simple 'Bolt Up' like most of those who use them have had.

Luckily it wasn't my problem as I 'Loaned', (ie, Gave.) it to Michael who is not only a good fabricator but also as tenacious as a ferret with a bunny! It took him a while and a bit of bending and filing but he got the bastard to fit eventually!

Well, actually, that does make me feel a bit better.  cheers

After riding on the new Stornello on a 600-mile r/t in a bit of the cold and wet last Friday, I have a whole new appreciation of even smallish windscreens.

It didn't help that I had forgotten that God doesn't watch the Weather Channel  Wink and I wore a mesh jacket.  I then had to stop at Walmart and buy another shirt and a cheap plastic rain parka (as in <$1!) just to soldier on while whining in my helmet.
