| Since buying my GRiSO 12 month ago I have not found too many opportunities for a decent ride but when I received an invitation to join some friends who were testing cars at the Nurburgring I booked the time off and went for the ride. Departed mid-UK on Saturday morning and managed to hop on an early afternoon Eurotunnel train. Spent the first evening in Calais, getting up early the next day and heading for the Belgium border. The morning fog forced a stop for an hour but it was soon burnt away by the rising sun. Arrived at Nurburg mid-afternoon on the Sunday. Leaving Nurburg early Tuesday morning I took a more scenic route home and found some great local roads, arriving back at Calais early evening and secured my bike in a garage dodging a heavy thunder storm. Managed to avoid the rain until the last 30 miles back through the UK. Bike was faultless and has a real sweet spot at 4.5 to 5K rpm – great for racking up miles whilst on the main roads. I had planned to travel with a backpack but on Friday morning called in at Moto Legends to pick up a set of C Bow brackets and Krauser soft bags. 1200 miles in 4 days of riding and ready for the next trip!

| Only took a couple – bike loaded up and snaps of classic cars at the ‘Ring’. Since the demise of ‘photofuc*it’, what is the preferred way to add photos on here?

No, when I arrived on the Sunday it was open for tourist laps but I was ready for a beer. On the Monday & Tuesday it was a private event for cars only. TBH it takes me ages to learn circuits. I have done less than 10 laps on the Nordschleife, its 15 miles and 150 corners of an accident waiting to happen. | |
