Hi all in the proverbial --------- first Saab says key malfunction no go can't even move it!! Then loose key (or left in ignition) gone!! Get spare key, switch on lights on but no normal needle movement then Insert code ? What code bought bike new never given this code. Surely both keys should have been coded ? Anyway found how to change numbers n move digits tried 00000 vin number to no avail any ideas, Uk Gloucester nearest dealer Steffords. Any help would be great literally stuck!!! Doesn't this electronic crap get up your nose Regards Ratt

Someone found the key!! Hopefully the bike will start even though I've done the lottery with the code? Anyway what's the point of it? You can cut a key but can't start bike without reprogramming ie like central locking so prevents someone mechanicaly copying key and nicking bike but to my mind one day you will be stood in the middle of nowhere with ignition fail see service centre ie just what the Saab is saying can understand why Royal Enfield sold 625000 bike last year

Set your key code to something you will remember. Like Scarlett Johansson's measurements. 362536.

cheers

In the owners manual there is way of inputting the code that came with your keys by using the throttle position and key on and off, not near the manual now, but someone will come along and let you know :-)

Shocking not carrying your user manual at all times Keith; committed GRiSO Witnesses should carry them & knock on people's door to read out sections on the doorstep (that's why it's in all languages)......anyway think you meant this section

I have found this now!! Still baffled as it appears that you still need to know code? To reset a new one? then presumably when this is done it will say insert key two and this will be recoded as well ? Or set a new code for key two. An idiots guide would be nice, as now the bike runs on one key I'm loath to try and recode not really knowing the correct sequence. Otherwise another heap of tin on the drive to join the Daab. By the way this is common (Saab) either key switch £85, or receiver in colom £85 or Sim unit £450 bet you can guess which mine will be Regards Ratt

My read (of the manual) is that you can create a new code if you forgot the old one; as long as you have two keys and follow the script.....so you don't need to know the old code to create a new one....but I feel your key pain

Bill Hagan gave me a tip last year; download the manual as a PDF to your smartphone.

Then it's one less thing to forget cheers

Lo, for did Guzzi spake unto me

"THE RIDER MUST GET ON THE VEHICLE FIRST AND GET OFF LAST TO BE ABLE TO CONTROL AND BALANCE THE VEHICLE WHILE THE PASSENGER IS GETTING ON OR OFF THE VEHICLE."

As it is written, so shall it be done.
