Current Rollerization Project Empty
PostSubject: Current Rollerization Project   Current Rollerization Project Icon_minitime1Fri Nov 03, 2017 7:01 pm

I'm currently in process of rollerizing my 2012 Norge 8V. I'm doing the work, but my (awesome) dealer is working with me and submitted photos of camshafts and tappets to the area service rep. Italy has approved the kit and parts are on the way. It is the "A" kit.

Here's my question... the "A" kit doesn't include head gaskets or cylinder base gaskets. Do the gaskets require replacement with new gaskets since the gaskets have relaxed with all the tension removed to pull to cam boxes?

I'm hoping the answer is "no" so I don't have to wait on new gaskets, but I'm also hoping not to do this job twice.

Advice appreciated...

Just finished my 2012 last week. The A kit includes valve cover gaskets, and the center gasket around the spark plugs hole. Thats it. The head remains unchanged. Don't forget to loosen the two smaller bolts attaching the head to the cylinder, near the timing chain. Don't want the head to warp.

No you don't have to replace the head and base gaskets.

Thanks nblades and Pete!

Since I haven't completely removed the head, I've not seen the gasket. Are they metal, composite or other?
