| Went to ride to work the day before New Years and no key in my desk drawer! Looked everywhere but no avail. Using my spare key but going to the dealer tomorrow to see about a duplicate. I get that I have to get the key cut and then program it with the dash. Thats what I get from putting a ribbon on the key. Also left it on my desk, So far interrogation has produced no results, cats not telling.. | |

Do you know the bike's user code? Pete

| Yes, I set the code when i bought it. Just got my new keys cut. $65 for blank keys (a bargain from AF1, normally $145) cutting cost $90 for two! That cat is going to have to do some chores to pay me back!
Now I have to figure out how to program them.
Is there an article on how to do this?

| Yes, in owners or service manual. Do you have them? | |

| In the first phase the user code must be entered and, after confirming the inserted key (key I) has been programmed, the other keys must be entered too. The procedure finishes once the 4 keys have been programmed or after 20 seconds. Should a new key lock be necessary, the procedure is: once the key is set to ON but the instrument panel does not recognise it, the user code is requested: enter the user code. Now enter MENU, DIAGNOSIS (entering the service code), KEY CHANGE and program the new keys.
Wait Thats for new lock, I'll get it

| If you go into diagnosis menu it walks you through it under program keys I believe
It changes your 1st key and makes them all the same, you have to insert all keys in 20 sec

| Switch the bike on with your new key. It will ask you for your user code which you enter.
Then enter MENU, DIAGNOSTICS, enter the service code , KEY CHANGE, and then program your keys (up to 4 can be programmed).
This works, have all your keys ready

So when it does, just reprogram the keys to include this one.

| Success! Keys all fit and I programmed them in the 20 seconds. Cats still not talking except at dinner time. | |
