Parted company with my bike last Friday...…….at around 50mph Shocked
I got away with it quite lightly really, badly bruised hip and thigh and wrenched shoulder.
I think the bike suffered worse than me No, wiped out everything off the bars, not sure if the bars are bent or just twisted in the clamps.
Damage to L/H rocker cover and spark plug cover, gear lever missing, seat ripped, rear fairing cracked.
So by the time the insurance pays out, and I do the repairs, that's probably it for my riding this season, ho hum, AND, I'd just got it running nicely, with an awful lot of help from our mapping guru, Beetle, thanks for you time and effort.
Oh, and Kevlar jeans (well mine are actually covec) are worth the money, not a mark on them, and saved me any abrasions.
I'd post a picture of my bruising, but I think it might be classed as porn cyclops

Watch them bruises. I'm only just starting to get feeling back in my left side from the bruising I got.

I'll show you mine, if you show me yours.

Sorry to hear about your spill. Get well and good luck getting your GRiSO back together. What caused the spill?

Ouch, sorry to hear this, but glad you weren't hurt any worse. Get well soon - you and the bike.

What caused the spill?  To be honest I don't know. One second I was just entering a L/H bend, next second I was sliding along the tarmac thinking "Bloody hell am I going to stop?".  Looking at the road surface after the event, there was a little bit of loose gravel on the road.  May be it was just enough to make the front wheel let go.

Glad you're, mostly OK, bikes can be repaired and replaced easier than bones, skin, and people. It's funny what goes through your head when you wreck. I hi-sided my Yamaha and I remember trying to figure out where the semi' behind me were, and did they have room too avoid a bigger accident. Funny my leather jacket was mostly fine on the outside, a few torn stitches. But the liner was some how ripped to shreds. I know I jumped to my feet and felt fine... the next morning I felt bruised all over. Gives me a lot more respect for the MotoGP and WSBK guys.

I feel for you.  Had an unintended dismount last year on my Aprilia.  One second I'm looking into the big round eye of a deer that had just teleported in front of me, the next second I'm flying through the air looking back at my bike skipping and spinning down the street hoping it'll be OK, and the third I'm picking myself up off the ground.

Yes, the tech in these new riding jeans is amazing, saved my bacon too.

Tough news for your bike but glad you're OK.  Heal well and quickly!

My silver lining last year was that "rescuing the season" gave me an excuse to pick up a cheap 2007 1100.  This could be a great excuse to add a 1200SE to the stable, they're getting cheap over here in the US.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery & a speedy repair. Still amazes me to see so many riders wearing inappropriate gear - & not just youngsters on scooters. Followed a big sports bike down the motorway the other day - the rider was wearing jeans (could have been kevlar), a nylon bomber jacket, trainers - no gloves. His female pillion was wearing a light summer jacket, spandex type leggings & high heels. They've obvious never spent an eveing down the local A & E watching their mate having gravel scrubbed out of hands when he offed his Laverda Jota with no gloves on

GWS. I had a low speed slide last year on wet leaves filtering up to some lights. All the correct gear bar my Converse All Stars. Needless to say my ankle took the brunt of the fall.

Well the insurance has finally paid up, so now the repairs can begin. I've started taking bits off, and found something I hadn't accounted for, on the other hand something I had accounted for is repairable, so swings and roundabouts so far.

It's a sad thing that they've taken this long to pay out. If you're 5 days late with your premium payment they tell you that they will cancel your insurance. 1 rule for them another for you.

Phoned up the insurance company 2 weeks after the inspector had been to look at the bike, '...........yes, the payments been approved, don't know why the cheques not been sent.......'. Yeah!
