Since I'm not cabaling, I'd thought I'd catch up on GRiSO jobs. Replace the dinged and dirty Ti headers. Replace like for like? Easy, eh?
No. Is the correct answer.
Summary of issues:
1. The Ti flanges that Ratty made were slightly distorted, much to my surprise. 2. The flange on the right header (with the ding) had to be removed with a mallet, as the pipe was no longer cylindrical. 3. The 'new' right header had different bend angles to the 'old' header. 4. Due to #3, the entire exhaust had to be reconfigured.
I had to remove the midpipe and Mistral, "adjust" the midpipe hanger, add a spacer, modify my left highway peg fitting, then rotate the Mistral slightly so the rear tyre didn't scrape on it. Arse & begorrah!

Oh come now Pete, were you looking for a bed at some time?
Seriously, my tank bag bra has a piece of sparkled plastic table cloth (from Bunnings, no less) as the layer between the tank and bra. Works well - I call it a farkle!

Hmmm..... I'd try a mild steel cut and patch, could probably use stainless steel even. Fit would need to be near perfect. With a bit of preheating and slow cooling i think it would be possible to repair.
