Youngest daughter home from uni’; dad-daughter 2-up to the coast and then lunch amongst the redwoods in Loma Mar. Could ANY boyfriend could be this cool? Jim, someone I’d met at a cafe stop over a year ago, recognized the GRiSO and then sought me out in the coffee shop. GRiSOs really do know how to make an impression.

Cherish those times. My girls are now 47 and 44, and no longer wish to ride with Dad. My granddaughters, 24 and 13, do like to ride.

I finally found some indicators I liked and machined a cap for the rear wheel. The front has a day light running light with indictors, with the rear, a taillight, brake light and indicator all in the one light and they are very bright. you cannot have enough lights.
I also fixed the intermittent oil pressure light issue. So I replaced the oil pan gaskets as a precaution (completely intact). Then i went the route of getting a replacement oil pressure switch (the Tridon one). So it seems on the early models with the 'nail head' type connector the tridon switch wont quite fit - the physical size of the metal head is larger (21?) and is too large as it is right up against the other sensor and the alternator. I think in later models the switch was moved towards the middle of the engine case? Anyway in taking it apart i noticed the factory connector was pretty poor and actually doesnt have a tight grip on the switch connector (its just a standard spade connector which was loose)

Perla took me for a 4 day rally trip. Annual event. She performed wonderfully. 600 miles all in. Not too far from home. Good stretch of twisties thrown in.
Also got to see a yellow GRiSO in the flesh (2nd time actually - first time I rode with this bike I didn't realize how rare they are) This bike has 90k on the clock.
Had a rough start. Abut 60 miles out it started popping and farting. Seemed I had a bad condenser. I let the other guys push on as we were on a schedule to meet a couple more guys further south. Limped home, swapped out the less than two year old condenser for the 40+ year old I had removed during recommissioning. The stars and planets aligned and it ran great all weekend. Not even a flat tire to slow me down!
There were a few GRiSO at the Rally but the only Indiana GRiSO I was aware of was Kid Smoke's. For some reason there are five or six in the Indianapolis area but I've never seen more than three together.
It was hard to get all the Indiana bikes in one shot but here are 5/6 of them.
Cop Bike, Stelvio, GRiSO, V85TT and a Jackal (rear fender just behind the GRiSO) Not pictured is the Suzuki adventure ride. I'm not a big picture taking guy, I suppose I should take more. It's easier to explain if there's a picture!
Lot of fun, good people, good roads and a jar of the Kentucky Spring Water made Saturday night pretty interesting!

I stayed in a out of order room here at the hotel we didn't get what the rest of the state received but I'm just surveying the property now to see what repairs are needed and then I'll ride home for a few hours then return.

Can’t imagine, Tim. Hoping your property and all your people make it through safely.

Here at cape Canaveral we fared better than the left coast and pan handle i saw no damage other than a few branches and palm fronds scattered about. The Bannanna and Indian rivers only appeared a little bit high I didn't get rained on my whole 25 mile ride home until about 1/2 mile from home it came down in buckets . I feel for the parts of florida that got hammered and flooded

Yeah, Tim, I figured you’d be ok on the eastern side of the state. The pan handle seemed to be hardest hit, reports just trickling in. Georgia and north being next in line. My wife is reporting rain, already, at home. Expecting more into the weekend.
People will definitely require help.

My hotel is right in the port not to far above sea level. We had some pretty strong wind gusts. Too strong to ride home over the Bannanna and Indian rivers causeway at 23:00

We had the eye come over us this AM, finally quit raining after 3 days. Lot of water came north of that storm. Hope all weathered OK.
Edit: Saw we got 11 inches rain.

I'm just west of Cincinnati, and have about 4" ( 100mm ) in the gauge. Just heard I-40 is closed and crumbling into the flooding river near the TN/NC line.
