Save My GRiSO Empty
PostSubject: Save My GRiSO   Save My GRiSO Icon_minitime1Mon Apr 04, 2022 7:51 pm

I'm a mess of all kinds of maladies. Shoulder injuries, neck injuries, inner ear and balance issues, hip, knee, replacement, back issues.

I've got most managed for my riding appliances, but the GRiSO's wide bars and forward lean/reach creates very painful shoulder and left arm pains from my hand to my shoulder. Hip and knee issues from the FWD lean as well. Anything more than 2 hours leaves me with too many regrets. A ride from 2 weeks ago triggered severe tendonitis in my left arm, elbow and shoulder that hasn't subsided. I added adjustable levers which have helped, but the wide bars and forward lean are killing me.

I think I need 1-1.5" bar risers if I am going to be able to keep riding the GRiSO. If not, it's going to have to go. I seem to remember a Ghetto member who made riser blocks for the handlebars? I also think that maybe it is time to go for bars with a narrower grip, though I'd like to try to keep the stock bars and just start with risers.

If I can't make this work, I will likely have to sell the GRiSO (heartbreak) buy the back V85 75th Anniversary Police edition, and strip the Stornello down to a fun naked street machine....... I'd much prefer to keep the GRiSO, so SAVE HELP MY GRiSO!

Onur's risers or try Mana bars, they give about an inch and a bit more rise, are narrower and have more pull back.

Oh, and I've got a set of 'Rox' risers you could try if you like. They shouldn't cost much to ship over. They're ugly as, (IMHO.) but do offer a lot of adjustment.

I’ve got ROX risers (gouge your eyes out, Pete) with Jota style adjustable bars. I’ve set mine like a GPZ900R. Very comfy.

Onur's bar risers are great. I've also fitted Rizoma fat bars, as they give more pull back and are narrower than the stock bars. I've also fitted variable foot pegs to give more legroom, but these have less helpful effect.

I have similar problems and I can now ride for a few hours, but the GRiSO may still have to go for something smaller and more upright. Sob.

Thanks for the input. I ordered up some Mana Bars from AF1. GT also has them but with $64 shipping charge...... AF1 was $10........

I have Onurs risers, bought and installed when I got the GRiSO back in 2015. I have Mana Bars on my 1200 Sport and like them well enough. Let's hope this works.
