Injectors. IWP189. Broke an injector connector. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I have experienced that there is a difference between my original from 2008 and the ones sold now (Stein-Dinse).
Significantly more fuel with the new ones, the plugs are sooted with 2 new injectors. And consumption stable at around 10 l/100km (normal 5.5 - 6.5). Bad at low revs with an erratic and rough ride.

With an old and a new injector, the one plug is perfectly fine. Smaller visual differences to old and new injector. Only differences I can find is that old spec is 490 cc/min, while newer seems to be 510 cc/min @ 3 bar.

Now waiting for a used Ducati injector from Germany. (duc # 28040161A)
Not too keen to start logging for new mapping after having 5 years without any problems.

Svein, there are suppliers in the far east with supposedly original specs. I hope you haven't ended up with some of these. I purchased some a few years back and took out at least 20% of fuel, right across the range. Still they were rich beyond belief when I swapped my original injectors back. This was done to try and sort out an issue I had at the time.

Physically, they (the genuine and Chinese ones) are identical but the flow rates are stupidly different. I would say the difference between 490 & 510 would not be that noticable (I could well be wrong on this front, though), so you might have inadvertently ended up with similar stock.

My original problem turned out to be pitted valve faces, not injectors. The original injectors are at 152,000 km and still going strong - shame yours got broken! Still you have a used one on its way and should simply plug and play...

Pretty sure they are not chinese.
Played with co trim at minus 20 to 30 with no real improvement except for better idle.
Lowest in pics is old spec.
Two extra grooves below top o-ring, smaller inlet, and different nozzle for older version.
