Ahhh F**K- I can't take it anymore!!!

I have enjoyed reading the posts on the forum lately as they have kept me sane and to an extent humored to this point. Unfortunately, I fear I am now losing it!

I am still without me GRiSO after what seems like months of it being in the shop plus plus plus this riding season. It appears I can go longer without sex than I can my bike. I've tried youtube GRiSO video porn, I've tried imitating the sound of the GRiSO while running around the room rolling the right wrist on an imaginary throttle. I'm thinking of renting some dirty old two wheeled slut just to feel good again.

I really find this odd. I rarely have problems getting parts in a timely manner. Sometimes they may be wrong, (My primary workbench is currently full of a dead Stelvio that I got sent the wrong camboxes for, Grrrrr!) but I can order pretty much anything and it'll be here in a couple of weeks, even if it has to come from Italy.

Hey Pete,

Yeah - roller tappet upgrade to replace worn flat tappets was the original problem. The first kit which was installed had an issue (maybe due to the problem which is now being investigated) My dealer then ordered a second kit to install after that which was installed while I was out of town for the last two weeks. I was told that the bike would more than likely be ready for pickup upon my return. I got in yesterday to news that that would not be the case. Some humming and squeaking noises are being heard from the engine with the second kit installed and the dealer is now working with Piaggio to determine the nature of this issue. They are taking a different approach thinking that there is an oil leak somewhere in the system. The oil pump / sump, strainer and cooler are being checked as you have mentioned should be done in other of your posts. This will now be covered under warranty along with some other areas to be inspected to determine where the leak may be happening. Additionally, they will be looking for any further damage that may have already occurred as a result. If this is the case they will remedy that as well before putting the bike back into my hands. Piaggio did not want to cover this a few weeks ago as part of the upgrade service, but.........I am relieved that it now will be. Just pissed that I can't ride coming to the close of the season.

Hey - wouldn't mind trying one of your GRiSO maps some day. Would be happy to make a donation or such if you are thinking of making them available. Would just have to find someone who could show me how to install it and set the bike up afterwards if need be.

Anyway, not a bad MG vid. I just found. Would love to take the bike there someday and ride that area.

I'd be pissed too. Any chance you could "lemon-law" it where you are?

It sounds like the shop is doing right by you by trying to resolve the issues, even though they are spending way more than Piaggio will re-imburse. Still, that doesn't get you the bike back any faster. Lose-lose for eveybody.

In the long run it'd be better if Piaggio just gave you a replacement bike.

I did send off an email to Piaggio last night explaining my frustration and anger at the additional time and expense the bike has cost me with regard to repair since purchase. I did mention how I am starting to feel with respect to buying a lemon tocino. Additionally, I mentioned that I have full confidence in my dealer and service tech.. Honestly, I think they have done a great job in trying to help me and to get the issues I have resolved. I hope Piaggio makes sure they are taken care of financially for all the time they have spent on this. I know both Gord's (dealer & tech.) want to see this taken care of properly. As far as a new bike is concerned, if Guzzi were to do that. I would ask that all the tenni green bits and brown leather seat be put on the new bike (if possible). I grew fond of the green quickly though I thought it was a bit odd. Originally wanted black or red but it was the only GRiSO left locally and felt lucky to get it.

Dingading dang my dingalong linglong...

Thought I would try my hand at a video since I'm still not back on the bike.

It's my first attempt, and yes, I would have loved to mic. it up properly for the engine sound but I'm not a pro in GoPro audio. Downloaded some free online music to fill in for the wind noise.

For those of you who have not been to the west coast of BC., this is the Sea to Sky Hwy. in July heading north from Vancouver to Squamish.

Pretty basic but hope you enjoy,

Not sure why but it is a bit choppier uploaded to youtube than in the edited version I have prior to upload. If anyone knows why this might be, I would appreciate your feedback.

Video looks fine to me. Not choppy at all. The only thing wrong that I could see were other bikes and cars passing you.

I thought the same thing while editing the clip (like, what the hell was my dawdling about?).  In hindsight however, while riding it, I knew I didn't know the road as it was my first time on that section of it. Additionally, I have been told the cops are all over it so didn't want to push my luck. Will certainly have a bit more fun the next time.

Is it really that simple, just sticking a little camera on your noggin?

Pretty much but you do have a little editing to do to prepare the file for youtube or whatever service you use. I have never done any editing and was able to figure out the basics in pretty short order. All in all pretty dang simple.

Thanks Wardest - yeah, simply mounted cam on top of helmet and used GoPro editing studio that you can get as a free download off their site.
