I have been looking at the brightness of the rear taillight and have a paranoid fear of being tail ended, I bought two Shin Yo 16's from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I have machined the housings for the number plate lights and taillight, they are not intrusive and are very bright, brighter than the factory light.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Neat. More illumination on the plate, especially if it is mostly white as in Wisconsin, might really help visibility! The Wisconsin code, at least, doesn't have any upper limit on the brightness of the plate Illumination.

I will have to take some photos, but you can buy the mounting pods for this light. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I machined my own and attached an angle bracket, I also changed the indictors to led, these are a stop, taillight and indicator in one and would provide a simpler mount. solution, I used one ballast per side at the rear to make them work on the bike.
