Norge fork bushings: which is the correct replacement? Empty
PostSubject: Norge fork bushings: which is the correct replacement?   Norge fork bushings: which is the correct replacement? Icon_minitime1Thu Nov 21, 2024 7:20 am

Hello all,
I have a Norge 1200 8V assembled in 2011 with 35kkm. Amazing bike !
I decided to control the forks, so I opened the shock absorbers, replaced the oil and oil seals and in the right one I saw that the bushings were in good condition so I fixed it without problems.
I noticed that the left one was making a slight scraping noise and in fact the stem bushing is worn.
The p/n AP8163098 that replaced the GU03530510 and the 03530510 are no longer available in all the european stores I visited.
So I checked for the equivalent replacement proposed from different bushings makers and I ordered the spare part 7510161 43.7x46.7x20mm from JMP which is suitable for my 45mm Marzocchi fork and
I also ordered a spare part for a Marzocchi 45mm fork from Inntech SKTE45M which is identical to the JMP bushing.

So I mounted the bushing on the left stem but it is bigger than the original:

The problem is that the bushing mounted on the stem does not want to enter the sleeve and in fact the guide bushing in the sleeve has an internal diameter of 44.7mm and the bushing seems the original and never changed.

and the original bushing is 1mm thick not 1,5mm as the new:

The original bushing removed seems to be 42.7x44.7mm.

So, is it possible that I have a bushings different from what expected by all dealers?
Some one knows (and mounted) an available correct replacement ) for the Marzocchi 45mm fork of Norge ?
Please help me.

After weeks spent searching for an original spare part and solutions on various forums, I solved the problem. I bought a pair of 46.7x20x1.00mm JMP 7510162 bushings and cut them to just under 4mm of the opening cut.

Then I compressed them lightly by hand and obtained bushings with the same dimensions as the original ones that were removed.
At the left the original bushing and at the right the new one modified.

Mounted on the stems, they fit perfectly inside the sheath:

Finally solved, even if I don't understand why you can't find a 44.7x20x1.00 bushing. Owners of Norge and Breva, you are warned!
