I am looking into the GRiSO as my next bike. I have never owned a Guzzi but am not new to bikes. I have been riding for over 40 years.
Anyway just wanted to say hello and hope I can find out here what is great about the GRiSO as well as what problems might pop up with a new GRiSO. The possible problem areas are important because the closest dealer is about 200 miles from my home.

If by 'New' you mean 'New' new then it is highly unlikely you will have any problems at all. Most problems with Guzzis are owner inflicted or the result of poor service from the shops that are selling them.

There have been well documented problems with some of the earlier flat-tappet engines but any post 2013 machine will have the seemingly impregnable roller top end.

If you are planning on doing your own maintenance make sure you understand what you are doing before you attempt it. It is very easy to screw stuff up quite badly if you don't understand how the system works.

A brand spanking new one?

There will be no issues if:

1. The pre-delivery is done correctly
2. The pre-delivery is done correctly
3. The pre-delivery is done correctly

They sometimes leave the factory with just a slap on the arse. Whomever sets it up for you (this includes your good self), must ensure the valves are set correctly, the throttle bodies are balanced properly (including a TPS reset) and all the fluids are correct.

Thanks Pete, it will be a 'new' 2015 GRiSO.

I do all my own maintenance both major and minor unless it involves a warranty issue. The first thing I buy with any new bike is a factory service manual.

Good to hear that Guzzi upgraded from flat tappet lifters to roller lifters. cheers

Buy the cables, download Guzzidiag, if you haven't got a set of vacuum guages or manometers get some, (A lot of folks here speak highly of the Mrgan Carbtune.) and read up on how to balance the TB's and you'll be golden.

Thanks Pete, I have a Mrgan Carbtune, been using it for some time on my 4 cylinder bikes.

Don't skip a drive shaft spline check to make sure it got lubed during assembly
