Hi All
In a previous ride report I mentioned that my wife Leanne was having issues with the seat on the GRiSO.
I have had the rear shock rebuilt, heavier spring which for both of us is near perfect, stopped hitting the bump stop all the time and jarring our backs.
I added an Airhawk seat as well.
Leanne still had issues and I put it down to the rear pegs as she said she cannot lift herself to move around.
Lower the pegs is the way to go, checked the net and the best I could find was 30mm drop and cost more than I wanted to pay and didn't have the drop I wanted.
First photo’s are of the wood template I made, sorry I chucked about three away as the angle was wrong.

I cut them long so I could get the height of the peg in the position so Leanne’s boot would not hit mine.

I then went to see a mate who is a wiz making stuff like this and he cut them out of a billet of aluminium.
Then he cut, bent to the angle I wanted and welded them up.

Bolted up to the bike to check them out, all good.

Sprayed with etching primer, sprayed with matt black paint and this is finished product. Bought some pegs off EBay, they don’t fold up out of the way like the normal ones, but that doesn't worry me.

Did they make a difference?
Hell yes, Stopped for fuel and said to Leanne we will stop again to give you a break and she said nar don’t worry, just head home.
Usually she is uncomfortable in about 45 odd minutes.
Straight through two & half hours no worries.
Total drop was about 80mm from standard.
So I my opinion it’s not the seat it’s the angle of the pillions legs.
Drop the pegs 8cm for standard.
See below the measurements I used.

So if your pillion is having issues with the seat this could help

Cheers
Harry

Excellant work there Harry.
I reckon you could be on a marketable item there. Thumbs Up

My pillion just got herself her own bike. Smile
But, she still likes to ride with me on the GRiSO.
I will ask her if she wants lower pegs.

Well done. I love making parts for my bikes too.
My wife has other names for it though.

Mine does. Except she uses words like 'harlot', 'trollop', 'strumpet' et al.

Grisodude. Great stuff,This is perfect, the only pillion complaints I get from the missus is the peg height because of knee ops. Would your mate be willing to produce another set??

Thanks Guys for the thumbs up on the pegs.
They really have made a huge difference.
I didn't do any of the metal work just the templates and my mate did the rest.
I posted the sizes so other could take them and get them made up as my mate isn't interested in production run.
Sorry

No worries Harry, thanks for the templates, 3D printer would be handy in the shed!
