GRiSO Error Codes Empty
PostSubject: GRiSO Error Codes   GRiSO Error Codes Icon_minitime1Wed May 30, 2018 5:26 pm

I tried to print out the error codes from the Workshop Manual so I could stick a copy in the toolbox, the PDF format didn't allow for easy printing as it is spread over several pages and font was hard to read so I typed them back into MS Word, I'm sure I made a few errors. I also used the listing on Guzzitech
The first paragraph I copied word for word from the manual, I think this needs some clarity.

I wondered why there are large gaps in the error Nos, it jumps from 17 to 20, I concluded the numbers are Octal based. I haven't actually viewed the error codes on my bike, I just assumed they show as ECU 10 etc or perhaps just 10

If anyone would like a copy of the word file send me your e-mail address in a PM

Thank you Roy
I am assuming that "Active" is current faults and "Memo" is stored in memory

Don't ask me for a copy, that file is long gone, no-one asked for copy at the time.
If I remember correctly those codes are visible on the dash, I don't think I had Guzzidiag back then.

Thanks for the detailed info. One minor correction though.
DSB 08 is actually 'oil pressure anomaly '    Ask me how I know.

GRiSO Error Codes Empty
PostSubject: Re: GRiSO Error Codes   GRiSO Error Codes Icon_minitime1Fri Dec 18, 2020 8:17 pm

I bought the bike in Sept 2018 and three weeks later I took it to my local dealer to get it roller-ized and he changed the oil and filter while it was there. About 5800 miles later I get the bright red triangle warning. So I head home and check the codes. DSB 08 OIL PRESSURE ANOMALY. No leaks and oil level is correct. I removed the oil pan and spacer to check the gaskets and they're fine. I change them anyway. I noticed the dealer had installed a UFI oil filter. I changed the oil and installed a NAPA/WIX #1348 filter.(I use NAPA/WIX on all my stuff). I assumed the oil pressure switch was OK because that's a different code and it was replaced just before I bought the bike. I also assumed the oil pumps were OK because no grinding or other weird noises and no OIL PRESSURE fault. 5700 miles later I just got another DSB 08 code. I remember that both times I was riding in a sedate manner and at fairly low RPMs. I read in the manual somewhere that the DSB08 is triggered if the system detects unusual oil pressure for at least 30 seconds below 2000 rpm and at least 3 seconds if above 2000 rpm. I may not be correct on the exact values but you get the idea. It's a little unnerving but it seems to be very sensitive to extended low speed/low rpm riding. The bike runs great with stock everything and fuel economy is surprisingly good. These two codes appeared just twice in 12k miles. It's never happened when bike was running 'briskly'. I don't know what the code's pressure threshold is but the low oil pressure switch activates at about 7 PSI or so if I remember correctly. I don't think there's another switch in the oil circuit. A bit of a mystery but I don't lose sleep over it. I prefer no faults or codes but that's just me. I did have a LEFT TURN INDICATOR alarm and that ended up being slightly corroded connectors in the black plastic dash housing. Hope this helps.

Update:  The manual states "There is an oil pressure anomaly when, with engine running at over 1500 rpm, the sensor is detected as conducting (closed) at least for one second. At lower rpm, there is an anomaly when the sensor remains closed for at least 300 seconds. The opening of the sensor, and therefore the alarm triggering, is detected
if the contact is open for at least one second."

After pondering this for a while it got me thinking. It sounds like the LOW OIL PRESSURE dash light doesn't get turned on just because the pressure switch is closed. I think a switch closure feeds the ECU and the ECU looks at the closure duration and at what rpm. If the closure is longer than expected for the conditions then the ECU tells the LOW OIL PRESSURE light on the dash to illuminate. If it doesn't qualify as a LOW OIL PRESSURE fault then it calls it an DSB08 anomaly.I'm thinking it was a momentary low pressure at a low rpm that tripped the code. I guess that makes sense. It is weird that the faults seem to go away after changing the oil filters. I guess that could mean the filter is doing its job and getting full and when a low rpm situation presents itself that's just enough to trip the code. The filters I use are kind of short. The bottom is recessed up inside the oil pan by about 3/4 inch. Any other opinions are welcome.
