| Got a message yesterday from a mate in Toowoomba: "Stuck in 1st, goes into neutral, won't select any other gear" Gave him a ring: Him "went over to a blokes place, he wasn't there yet, so went for a ride to a local dam, and back" Me "what was the road like?" Him "why do you ask?" Me "what was the surface like?" Him "new laid bitumen, with surface stones" Me "ah, check for a stone in the gear change linkage" He was then off like a startled gazelle. A while later I got this photo: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]He "how'd the hell did you know that?" Me "mine was on top of the gearbox, a right royal pain to get to" Moral: Check twice, you might just be stoned. Especially if this happens - don't panic, check the obvious. | |

| Had similar happen to a K1100LT - all gears but no drive.
Towed 150k to a mechanic, he gets a long bladed screwdriver and flicks rock out of clutch arm/frame. |
