PostSubject: Relay Access   Relay Access Icon_minitime1Sun Jun 06, 2021 5:24 am

I needed to get access to the Light relay the other day, what a pain, had to remove the seat shroud to expose the relays.
Of course this involved removing the rear rack and about a dozen screws.
Am I going about this the wrong way?
Has anyone done a fix like remounting the relays?

Were you not able to unplug the relay and remove with it in situ, Roy? Or were you trying to get access to the relay holder itself?

I cannot even see the relays until I remove the seat surround.
Once that is off they are easy to get at, I assume they must be in a different location on the 8 Valve.
Can you take a picture of yours?
Do you recognize this bling?

That's one of Dan Ratford's titanium cooler covers. The early versions had a problem with the eagle falling out. I have one just like it.

Ok, I cracked the secret handshake to get at the relays.
Remove the three trim screws on the right hand side
pull the trim out and reach through the hole in the trim with a ball end socket (need this because it's at an angle) and remove the rear holding screw. Loosen the front holding screw.
Tilt the back of the relay holding bracket up to expose the relays and sockets.
Certainly easier than removing the rear rack and all those screws.

From the front "Start Relay" "Light Logic Relay" followed by the two "ECU Relays" sorry I didn't sort those out but the second to last is a weird shape
