And research the forum.

Tried to use PM system but it bugged out, sorry if you get 3 copies only sent the one.
Hows about this looks promising, has dual plug outs like the later 1400 kits.

So worth placing a deposit to secure? Still getting extra end on pics later.
Been sort of modded if you consider the spoke wheels, black headlight and clock nacells, carbon rocker protectors, and black paint rocker covers.
Stands to reason person might have got that sorted, I'd reckon current owner has the confidence/skills.

What I can tell you is it is definitely a roller cambox. If you look at the casting underneath the cam end of the rocker arms you can see the much larger bore for the roller tappet and the slender strip of alloy between the easily visible bore of the exhaust tappet and the occluded inlet tappet. Remember my description earlier about the cast in circle in the casting that is cut into by the bores of the larger, roller, tappet?

Then there is the fact the cambox/rocker carrier casting is made for twin plugs and the earthing tang on the two central bolts and discarded from the rear inner head stud. All these things indicate it is a rollerised motor.

From the size of the plug tunnel in the casting, (The one that is used.) you can see that this is an earlier motor with the non floating rocker covers. The plug tube has to have come off with the rocker cover.

How many miles on this one? Can't comment on price as I don't know what they go for in the UK. It's certainly a safer bet than the 2008.

Sounds good to me will pop a deposit on, £250 will keep it mine until see it in the metal and plastic.
12740 miles owned 5 years, who knows what mileage he's done or when the rockers were sorted I could hazard 8-10k maybe. Not heard it run yet or seen the yellow screw. What happens if screw has been f*cked with as you never really clarified that other than a nightmare scenario Laughing

Well stop dithering and go and take it for a test ride, or at least warm it up and listen to it.

All I have is this years gleaned info from your good self, "Type 1" plus "Martin Arundel's" complete series on his Cafe Racer 1200 conversion/fixing the solenoid issue.

Dude bike is like 300 miles away, matey is away on holiday for a week this friday. Soonest am even going to see it is the 6th or 7th of September. Sad
Then ride it back the 300 miles home Cool
Plus he's at work and had no working email last night. Comms is severely limited.

You see over here you'd drive 300 miles in an evening for pizza.Very Happy. Not nowadays but when my missus was living in Canberra in 1981 she and a couple of her mates used to pour themselves into her shitty four cylinder Holden Torana and drive down to Sydney to pick up a real Pizza because all the pizza shops in Canberra at that time were shit. 280km each way.

Petrol was cheap back then but you have to understand that to us, and a lesser degree the yanks, the idea that 300 miles is some sort of Homeric epic trip is quite funny. Oh, and I'm a former Pom so I've been in the same position WRT distance. It's all relative...... cheers

So thats 482 kilometers one way for this bike, thats enough for me. I prefer a couple 100miles/300Kilometer rides. Hopefuly will be enjoyable.
Bike has both keys.
Might be the 14th of September before I obtain it Sad

Extra pics to compound what we already know Cool

I've yet to secure a pic of the yellow screw itself, cant see no yellow in that side pic.
Going to sort me an end on pic of screw tomorrow.
He reckons bike is a bit yuk at low 2500 -3000 ish due to surging, I kind of knew about that, will one of Beetles maps sort that on the Termigoni?

BTW, painting the valve covers is a fairly common modification. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Coolio  Cool

Does that include removing part of frame  Shocked  where do you hang your feet now   What a Face like the machined torque arm thing Cool

I guess that will be among the first things I do swap out the map, though would rather swap the Termigoni for a Carbon Mistral, reckon I will find any takers?

Remember, a map is not a 'Magic Bullet'. The first thing you'll need to do is check the tune, valve lash, throttlebody balance, reset TPS and trims. If the tune is incorrect the results of remapping will be sub-optimal.

With most exhausts nowadays you'll find they may only be supplied to order. The GRiSO was after all discontinued six years ago now. Mistral do still offer their pipes though, I'm just not sure about lead times. I'm thinking of ordering a stainless Hi-Pipe for the Tenni shitter simply because it's easier to keep clean than the CF one I have on the Green Horror. At the moment though it can stick with the $100 Mistral Conical I got from a wrecker. It's got a couple of scratches but it's OK. Cosmetics aren't my strong suit. Michael has been shaking his head and 'Tutting' like fury whilst working on the Green Horror and his OCD has gone into hyperdrive because of all the little things I don't worry about but he does..... Rolling Eyes Laughing

PS. Just listened to the video. That one sounds a lot healthier than the black one. What's the price sticker on this one?

The reaction arm is a Rossopuro product. The rear sets are by Joker Machine with beetle™ brackets.
No, the GRiSO doesn't fall apart when your remove the side plates.

You'll be able to sell or trade the Termi easily, I reckon. People seem to like them. I hated mine.

First thing I always do and you'll hate this Pete, detail clean make it look as good as it possilby can.
Then will check the tappets, let you lot explain how to use the map feature function software, TPS reset I imagine is in there too.
Throttle body balance sounds fun, do I need a special tool?
Whats trims when its about?
Any specific order?

£5000 this one, £500 more than last one, with the rollerisation done well worth it. 6000 miles less, 2-3 years younger.
Really it was the one I was always after hence the title of this thread.
Some things about it niggled me, like the carbon rocker cover protectors and being painted black, let me get over the silver and original first.
The spoke wheels as not really a fan. the dodgy after market levers.
A tank protector on a tank your belly is miles away from, that could potentially damage the original decals to remove.
The condition is not as nice as the black one, petty shit really. At £4500 the black first one if it had been rollerised.

I never for one moment thought it would, owned a buell X1 it had removable side plates and engine as a stressed member.
Couldn't see the rearsets in the previous pic thought maybe you lost a leg and had a stump dangling there Shocked
I always thought the Termigoni was the exhaust to have, it's like the original for sound, performance I could only guess was similar.
Its slimmer and lighter. Now it just looks too long and sounds too quiet. Though am sure have heard them louder.

The GuzziDiag software is necessary to reset the TPS after a throttle body balance. Plus, it can be used for diagnostic purposes. It an invaluable tool for a FI Guzzi owner. Plus, it's free to download (don't forget to make a donation to the author), and the cables only cost ~£25.

Get the Carbtune balancer. I can't recommend anything else.

The stock pipe weighs 8.5kg. The Termi weighs 5kg, plus vibrates like a bastard. A CF pipe weighs less than 2kg. It's a no-brainer, IMNSHO.

I'm pretty sure if you ask around you'll be able to find someone who would be willing to do a wheel swap. Many prefer the wire wheels. I did for a while but then decided they didn't suit the bike as well as the cast ones. Cast ones are a bit lighter too. What happened to its original wheels?

Pipe swap might be a bit more of a challenge. The Termi is OK, I had one on my bike for a while but they are heavy and vibratory. Really though worrying about weight on a Guzzi is a bit like applying lipstick to a pig! Mistral Hi-pipe in carbon is about £352 I think without VAT etc.

I enquired about the wheels he said thats what it came with, is why he assumed bike was an SE. Who knows maybe it was a Tenni Green and someone prefferred White Laughing
Am put off by several factors weight is not really one of them, maintenance/corrosion, loose spokes, air leaking out of nipples, more trouble than they are worth.
I'll see how I get along with them.
Will offer the pipe up on here for sale or swap, then when someone is interested they can pay me a small deposit and wait while I order a new one.
Am happy getting the regular Mistral Carbon Cone, not to bothered about getting a High Line, besides its not available in the Uk. From dealers only via the USA which adds way to much to the cost.

My last bike was considerably more heavy, most bikes have owned have been comparable. Am a big man not a little weedy scroat.
Besides if this weedy looking female can pick up a very heavy harley sportster, then gown men like us picking up a GRiSO should pose no problem, unless we do it wrong.

£450 each shipped, I thought the links were dead but the items come up with an internal search. Would need to check if they are still available.
Luckily Termigoni is considerbly more expensive and still readily available £700 delivered reduced from £855. Happy to take £450 for it shipped to UK Laughing
