Hey from northern Virginia

Hi all. New to the forum, thanks for having me.

I just bought a 2007 (1100) last weekend. LOVE! Amazingly, it only had 2,880 miles on the odo and looks like it was just built yesterday.

Thanks. I love the city of Frederick; it's got a cool vibe. Certainly one of the coolest small towns in the mid-Atlantic.

Years back (mid 90's) I met up with a Maryland Guzzi owner's group in Thurmont. Are you part of that clan?

I, too, like Frederick, Maryland COMMA BUT!

While Winchester, Virginia, was also -- as in the 18th century Wink

-- called Frederick Town, we are 10 miles northwest of that city, and at the edge of Gainesboro and Cross Junction. But, somehow in a way that made sense to the USPS, we have the last mailbox in the gerrymandered 22603 zip code that slithers up U.S. 522, i.e., Frederick County, Old Dominion, NOT the Old Line State. cheers

Seriously, I am always bemused by the Virginia slice of the D.C. metroblob called NOVA, when in geographical reality it is south of us at the literal top of the Virginia map.

FWIW, the first of "My People" came to Maryland in 1662, and stayed there until kicked out in the 1780's! Really.

That said, I ride there often, especially in central and western Maryland. Lovely roads. So, I have been through Thurmont numerous times, but did not know any Guzzisti there. Charlie Mullendore, a Loop Frame guru, runs a Maryland-D.C. group that meets for breakfast every month. I try to attend, but, darn it, seem always to have calendar conflicts. Several GRiSO guys belong.

Must go. Cleaning up the Moto Grappa and heading on Thursday with a few other Guzzisti on a mutton run to Daviess County in western Kentucky. As I just mentioned to @BruPo in his Oshkosh thread, I won't be on the GRiSO this time, but it's been there twice recently.

Correction acknowledged. I was distracted by "Frederick" and immediately defaulted to the city of. I am very familiar with Winchester though. I used date someone who grew up there and we'd go visit her family at least one weekend per month. Very nice little community, though it has grown quite a bit.

Speaking of Winchester, I'm assuming you knew Carl & Dana Lucci of Winchester Indian. I bought many bikes from him over the years. Same with Donnie Unger of Duc Pond, who is another person friend.

I've shown up to a few Maryland/DC Owner's Group events but was never a member. They used to have a monthly meet at a seafood joint on the Eastern Shore. Met a very pleasant older gentleman once, with the last name George. He rode a Convert and insisted I take it for a spin. First Guzzi I ever rode, and I was hooked. That was about 30-years ago.

Hey, I think I recognize you from ADV Rider. You had a green Norge didn't you? I think we had a few chats over there.
