Fuel connection query

To refresh, what's the trick to unpressurize the fuel connection to ease tank removal? It's been so long Ive forgotten. I know you can snap that plastic bitch like a twig without the tip.....

Disconnect the fuel pump, then try to start the engine. It might briefly try to start..then no fuel.
